5.0.4 patch error...
|
hi guys, i am currently on patch 4.3.4, and when i click the launcher it says in the bottom "downloading updated tools", so im guessing this is it patching for MoP< but when it gets halfway it stops and says either "this download is unauthorized" or "the tracker is unavailable". Now not only is this downloading, but i just bought the game and have played 3 days, and im not going to get to play the rest of my 60 days at this rate. Could someone help?

I have exactly the same problem my updating tools stops 1/4 of the way through and my background downloader says it's unauthorised. I have tried everything: deleting files (battle.net, WTF, Interface, Cache), downloading files to fix patches, changing permissions, rebooting with limited start up, updating Flash player, allowing access to all ports and adjusting the firewall.
Nothing has changed, every guide I have followed to try and fix the issue hasn't helped. I am hoping someone will be able to answer my ticket. |

I'm sorry to hear you have had the same problem Reggan. I am once again back at my computer trying everything to get WoW to patch. Blizzard have not yet answered my ticket that I sent on the 30/08. So I'm afraid I haven't been able to share any solutions with you.
However after seeing similar problems on my brother's computer, try turning everything on your anti-virus software if you have one. I have Kaspersky 2012 and even though the firewall was off extra general settings for blocking virus data from the internet and files were stopping the launcher from updating. I hope this is helpful to you or someone else in a similar situation. |

Disable Kaspersky until the launcher update is done. Hope this works :) |

Yes Mxn it has now worked for me and completed through to the new launcher. Kaspersky was the cause of my problem and I wish I had known sooner. I will keep this in mind for future patches because my computer always struggles to install them.

I found there was a hidden folder on the c drive which i had missed, just show hidden folders and you will see one program date in there is a battle net folder just delete it, straight away it finished the download and the game worked fine untill i tried to log onto it, if this happens just go to battle net download game dont worry it doesnt it just fixes the problem, hope this helps.
