god im so annoyed why cant i run it as administrator?????it just doesnt bring up the launcher! and the files "programdata" doesnt exist!

Yep! welcome to my world been at it for 4 hours now and not a single thing happends! been waiting to talk to an technic dude on the phone.. and STILL nothing. 4hours! since 10 AM

After half hour of downloading (optimizing vent nice) i still have TOTAL DOWNLOAD REMAINING 471MB (like in first second) and 0% downloaded but internet work perfectly and i can see something is DL atm.... Just let him to finish or....?

Just tried it and it does indeed work. Great job.

TIP - If anyone cannot delete the agent folder, hold Control Alt Delete, go to processes then end all agent process' and it'll let you delete them.

For those working on windows xp:
I had the same problem, the launcher was stuck on 0% reconfiguring files for over 4 hours. I deleted the battle.net data and restarted the launcher, this time after about 10 minutes it jumped from 0% to 100% and is now downloading the rest of the patch without trouble (so far, knock on wood).

to find these files ensure you enable viewing hidden files (contro panel -> appearances and themes -> folder options -> view tab: in the list turn hidden files and folders to show hidden files and folders)
then go to C -> documents and settings -> all users -> application data (normally a hidden folder) -> battle.net
delete the folders in that battle.net folder and rerun the launcher. Blizzard has admitted there is something wrong with the loading bar on the reconfiguring files screen so give it a little while without giving up immediately again and hopefully you will be able to proceed to downloading the patch!

How do you do this on mac? (Ninnoc)

I think it stayed at 0% and just continued to download as if the loading % is faulty, then just switched over to the download page of "setup" "playable" "optimal" etc. Even on this page it states that I'm downloading 6.88 at 900Kbps and its 0% but if you go onto Info-> connection info it tells you the actual % and the amount downloaded.

none of this works for me (mac user) Blizzard needs to sort this out i shouldnt have to fix it myself.

Guys, I'm stuck on "downloading updated tools", any fix for that? Keeps getting stuck on the same spot.

when i deleted battle.net from program data it went straight to playable (2) but no further

i have done everything suggested in the blue post and still no luck,
1 hour into process the 1st time i stopped it and followed the steps in the blue post.
Now I have done all of that and it is still just hanging at 0% after another hour.
This does not bode well imho for the MoP expansion as the optimizer for it just does nothing at all except well sit there on my screen being annoying :(

All in all ..... Useless

What is more i couldn't give a damn about the size of the install on my HD so doubly useless
All this "optimizer" is doing is effectively breaking WoW for me.

always problems been stuck at 0% for 2 hours tried all your fixes and tried to start wow again been stuck at 0% yet again! dont understand why every patch day has these problems, downloaded the full patch at the start of last week so was expecting to update tools and apply patch and play the game i pay for.

Ive got to 3% in about an hour, I dunno if i should leave it and just wait or try the fixes to speed it up.

OK so what a fool am i... basically NO NEED to delete any folders... many mac users like me may be confused why its stuck at 0% config right.... and if we all saw in the NEW MoP launcher - THAT IS the optimisation configuration launcher "Please do not close the launcher or run WoW during the process" - obviously we may think that the launcher in the optimisation process was the OLD wow launcher (the cacaclysm launcher) which shows all the battle.net news, the scroll of resurrection stuff etc (has the play button bottom right) similar to the NEW mop launcher.... basically i was stuck on 0% for an hour, and after CLOSING THE OLD LAUNCHER, the process ran smoothly - MAC OS X 10.6, guys on a mac with this problem, please close the old cataclysm wow client launcher..... that was my issue no need to delete any files as it may cause problems later... good luck guys!

Sigh.... After reading this, I don't know whether I should do this or just leave it; I've been on 0% for about 45mins now. I'm so confused man! :L Should I just leave it or should I do this?

well stopping it and trying fixes may make it work ..... but on other posts blue posters have said "this is why you now need to dl a huge amount because you stopped it"

So they release something that doesn't work for a huge amount of people.
Then tell you to stop it and delete a bunch of folders.
Then tell you well you stopped it now you have to virtually DL the entire game again.
