Just came back and got few questions about destro
|
First, comment on my spec, please. I found it to gave me enough survivability because at the start I was getting levelled with the ground by melees. By second bg I was able to put up a fight.
Q. I see destro seems to be crit based now, right? I loved haste but is crit better now? I can't think of any more questions right now but please throw in hints if you will. Questions will spring up. |

More crit = bigger chaos bolt damage.
Personally ive always run with max crit as destro, but thats for anything outside arenas (i hate arenas as destro has been a bit, rubbish). Int/hit to cap (5%now) then whatever you feel most funky with. Personally i have around 12% haste and 26% ish crit. Chaos bolt hits pretty hard. Doesnt matter much anyways. In a few weeks it will all change. |

Welcome back Fel!
Ive spent alot of time on the beta so dont trust my armory for any advice, anyway, looking at your PvP build this is what I can think of. Tier 1: I think DR is the superior choise for Destruction PvP, HoL is strong and could be considered but aslong as you stay away from Soul Leach in PvP your good to go (for any spec). Tier 2: Shadowfurys lower CD and AoE makes it very useful for Destruction and personally it would be my pick for all three specs. Tier 3: I find SP the strongest of the three. Tough with a remark that they are all strong. Comparing DB with SP it will (most of the time, 1v1) absorb equal numbers but with SP you get 1/3 of the CD and no payback. However this means that you always have to care for pet health. DB is more for the bg/rbg/arena Id say as it can take any kind of punishment, tough being inferior in the 1v1 area. Tier 4: Blood fear all the way. UW could be an option in the competetive RBG or Arena, perhaps. Tier 5: All grimories are strong in their situational areas. Tough I find GoSup being the best all-rounder. This is due to that its passive unlike GoServ and its advantage over GoSac in situations when you are targeted alot. GoSac damage is nice and you get your ability of choise per situation but its no longer external ofc (no SL during CC etc). Also, its only strong and only provides (the most) when you can freecast so while kiting and fighting in 1v1 it loses some potential compared to the GoSup were the pet constantly attacks and provides damage even if your being locked down or unable to cast. On a sidenote, GoSac gives you 20% extra health if you are speced into Soul Link. Tier 6: I need to do more testing to have some real insight here. Edit: About glyphs... The minor are very optional but Id go with Nightmares, Health Funnel, X. For major only Conflagerate is mandatory for PvP, Healthstone works wonders with Dark Regen, Demon Training when/if relying on Succubus/Shivara alot. Dark Soul is interesting (hey 3% critt!) but most of the times DS will be on cd or active hence diminishing its uses some. This is only my personal thoughts based on what Ive been able to try out first hand. If not to other peoples personal preferences it still provides some insight and perspective on the choises. |

Thank for the input, Lian. But you were looking at my pve spec I made before logging. This is my pvp spec - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/tool/talent-calculator#Vb!02202.!UkZPQY -
About tier 3, I am staying with DB because after that wares off, healthstone, dark regen + ember tap saves me. It's like we got a bubble now, but we can still attack during it :D About Grimoires, yeah I see where having upgraded pet would be better, but I hated having to control my pet. I wanna control just my char, so I'll be going with it. Plus nifty dmg bonus and hp regen =) So far I haven't been having major problems that make me quit again. I feel like I can go far with how locks are now and I like the changes. Could you throw couple of pvp tricks, please? Also I am looking for all-in-one pet macro. Keep in mind with Grim of Sacrifice. Basically all-in-one spell on target and with modifier on focus. Using old macro and just replacing spell didn't work for me. |

Dw mate, that was the spec that I checked ^^
Not that many new tricks its more about ability knowledge. When initiating warriors place a RoF on top of you before the initial charge and he will get stunned by the time that the stun ends. Waves can come in a different synce and which delays the stun which can sometimes reward you when they go for the popular Shockwave after the charge stun, effectively wasting most of it and possibly saving you a trink, if now, gives you a moment to get away or cast something. In combat this works the same way vs monks, ferals and Sstep Rogues and alike. (It seems as if multiple RoF's will trigger it faster as its waves in total and not waves per unique RoF but this needs to be confirmed). When awaiting a stealther attack do the same, while you can rain around you all you like remember to always have one directly on top of you. Fear could be used to prior-interrupt fast casts or upon reaction, longer casts. Now that its instant you can panic interrupt any cast at any time with it (stop cast - blood fear could be macrod), with the the health cost, ofc. Fel Flame is the same but with more dmg, keep spamming it like there is no tomorrow upon movement, the ember regen rate of it is great. Curse of Enfeblement is vastly superior to Curse of Elements in almost all cases. If you use GoSac dont hasitate to have a pet out and sac it later, say your up against a ton of melees in a bg, simply keep the Succubus/Voidwalker out for a "free" seduction/disarm before you sac. Also, the hp boost from the Voidwalkers sac-ability can be used prior to Dark regen / HS for a greater effect. Cant remember if Spell lock - sac - Spell lock still works (dont think so). Edit 1: More for info but glyphed Fire and Brimstone - Conflagerate is underestimated in bgs, its a damn ranged piercing howl and in combination with a couple of RoF (add one before the mass conflag and one straight after) it can turn the tide in any small area or tight passway. Could edit in more later if it comes to mind but rly, we need to learn about all other specs new stuff/combos and cds before we have some really awsome tricks. >=D |

It does work like that. Very useful. Silence then sac then silence is off cd again. Also, use unending resolve (Damage taken reduced by 40%. Immune to interrupt and silence effects. Lasts 8 seconds) after dark bargain. From what ive seen it appears to lower the damage you receive from dark bargain as well, so you take even less again. Timed well it covers the 8 seconds the damage from dark bargain causes. |

Yeah was gonna ask that. Thanks. One thing I'm gonna quote from myself since it was an edit and no one seen it :P
