I hope Sargeras, and it is a once only fight, that everyone on the realm takes part in, leading up to the final day, where he finally succeeds and destroys azeroth, causing your server to shut down forever.Imagine a whole expansion leading up to the end of WoW for good, closing down your server as you join up in some kind of final battle over the course of a week, and on the final day, the cities crumble, the lands turn to ash, and each zone becomes uninhabitable, and everything becomes unmade.I would pay good money to be part of that :DServer Message: The Auction House has been irreversibly destroyed, and no longer functions.Server Message: It is no longer possible to create new characters, as everyone is now in a final battle with extinctionServer Message: The world has been claimed by Sargeras. It burns to ash as your soul leaves your corpse for the last time, leaving behind a dead universe filled with nothing. Then rolls one heck of a final cutscene, think end sequence to Final Fantasy games in length, and then, the credits. You can then view your armory profile as a memorial, locked forever. Love this idea. |

Sargeras would be my guess as well, since it is well known that the Burning Legion is still out there waiting and plotting... we may have beaten back the Legion for now, but we have far from defeated it.
Only time will tell however, and if it turns out that the final boss is not Sargeras, who or what could the final boss be? |

Assuming Sargeras isn't the final boss of World of Warcraft, then it'd be interesting to know if Aman'Thul can get corrupted.. *imagination kicks in*. |

I always thought it would be Azshara. From what I've read, she's extremely powerful, comparable to Archimonde etc. I doubt someone with her power would just disappear.

Final boss is Number of Active Subscriptions.
Game ends when it dies. |

I would prefer it if Sargeras wasn't the final boss, however the pantheon of titans themselves.
As Algalon stated, we have deviated from their design, effectively freeing ourselves from our creators... I can imagine that the Titans are not happy with that at all, considering our deviation was caused by the Old Gods. It would make for far more interesting story telling than simply "Oh sargeras is back with the burning legion." |

There will not be final boss until we are playing and having fun ^_^

If the quotes from Harbringer Skyriss ( http://www.wowpedia.org/Harbinger_Skyriss#Quotes ) are to be taken literally, there are Old Gods outside of Azeroth as well... and possibly someone, or something, behind them. (or at least some sort of most powerful one, being a leader)
That could be some material for the final enemy, other than Sargeras and his Burning Legion. Edit: What Serpain's saying about the Titans makes sense to me, as well. |
Final boss is Number of Active Subscriptions. If we went by that logic Everquest and Eve wouldn't be around any more but guess what? They are. On topic: I don't think there's any other boss out there that can match Sargeras leader of the burning legion, he is basically WoW's ultimate evil. (Ghostcrawler jokes aside) |
Final boss is Number of Active Subscriptions.Game ends when it dies. So much true!!! |

@GregTStreet Maybe I go a bit too far, but... Is this the last expansion?
