Suggestion: Recruitment Billboard!

Hello, folks!
I would like to make a suggestion. On the previous forums, there was a tab for guild recruitment posts. I can hear you thinking: "this dude wants a new recruitment tab". Well, then you are wrong. Ever heard of a Billboard? I'm pretty sure you have, because the forum tab was called Recruitment Billboard (but, I might be wrong here). Anyways, wouldn't it be great if there was a system in-game that allows you to see which guilds are recruiting members, and the qualities the member has to possess? Let me give you a functional design I had in mind. In all major cities, a board hangs onto a wall. Square-shaped would make sense, but hey. Everything is possible. Klicking the board will bring you to some sort of current in-game mailbox design. Does not have to be 100% authentic, not at all. But I am giving you an idea of what I have in mind. Where the letter is positioned in the mailbox, a guild crest image should be displayed. On the right of that image, the name of the guild. The duration of the mail could be replaced by "not recruiting" & "recruiting", or "full" & "recruiting" colored green and red. Again, everything is possible. The guild level should also be displayed somewhere. Not sure where to place it. You can scroll through the database and see alot of guilds. As soon as you klick onto one of the guild recruitment templates, you can see the text that has been written. This could be entirely handwritten (typed, actually), or there could be limited options. I will come back to this later in this post. Of course there should be rules for posting a template. I will give you a few examples. - Every guild can only make 1 recruitment post. No more, no less. - Only the guild leader can edit this information (and maybe officers, everything is possible :D) - Mature language filter should be used for writing additional information. PS: If this does not work, or many guilds use this for advertising / harrassing, you can just leave out the handwritten text. Another solution will be posted later in this post. - Extra: Only guilds with a certain guild level are allowed to make a recruitment post. These are just a few rules, and rules can be added and / or deleted. If, as mentioned above, the handwritten text is misused (harrassing, advertising), make a chatbox instead. Just like the guild bank withdrawal tab. Just klick on the checkbox of the class(es) you want to recruit, and check the spec(s) they need to have. Then put a number tab on the right of the 2 checkboxes, so you can put down a number of the class(es) the guild needs. Also make a selection tab, in which you can select certain guild members. Note: this is a guild leader's option only. The guild leader can tag officers, and other people cabable of inviting members, that will show in the recruitment billboard. This way a guild-looking person knows who to whisper for more information and / or an invite. This is my idea, and if something might pop up in my head, I will edit the post. Any other ideas and feedback are welcome. ~ Pillar. Edit: title. |

In-game guild recruitment options would be nice.

Level requirements don't work, they haven't since you could start a character at level 55.
However, I do like this billboard idea, so maybe they can think of some other safeguards. |

Whatever happened to that Guild Recruitment UI Blizzard already had planned for the expansion? I've seen nothing of it in beta

I quite like this idea! I don't think linking the forums to an in-game interface would be easy, but having a billboard hanging in the capitals on which people could post their guild/dungeon recruitment and some information would be good. As some have already mentioned, gold spammers would probably be a problem though. If they are going to make a system like this, they will indeed have to intend a most clever way to prevent gold spam on the board.
It's a good idea :) |
