Barrackobama If your friend has not already done so please get them to send us a webform fully explaining the situation and the matter will be investigated further. Please also get them to read through this sticky and follow the guides to help them get their account and computer secured.
They should also change their registered e-mail address if their old one has become compromised. I wish them all the best in getting this sorted. :) Darcroth I am very sorry but I am unable to find any recent correspondence from you about this situation from either account. I have however found that there was a similar situation a while back regarding this account, which was resolved. If you feel that it needs looking into again, please contact our Account and Payment team. |

Hi,
I left the game in march, then subscribed for the Cataclysm trial in december. I noticed that a few items were missing, and as I was looking at the activity of my character in the armory I noticed that a got some loots in september. I submitted a ticket to the game masters, two of them confirmed that my account had been hacked in september. I lost at least 20k gold, three guild bank tabs and everything in my personal banks that could be sold to the NPC for a high amount. So someone messed up my account three months ago. Is there still time to recover what I lost, at least partially? Thanks in advance. |

I can see that you sent in a petition about this matter a couple of days ago Rynra but sadly we were unable to recover items due to the time that has passed.
I am very sorry and hope that you are able to get back on your feet quickly. If you have not already done so, please go through the links in this sticky on account security to help make sure that this does not happen again in the future. |

Hi.
On the 30th of December of 2010 a friend of mine was banned, his named character being Gamakatana, a level 85 druid from Darkmoon Faire. He wrote something to post but due to his account being banned he can't post it, so he asked me to do it for him and as so I will quote what he wrote. when i tried to logging in WoW i got surprised by a message "Access to your account has been temporarily disabled,. Please contact Support for more information at: https://www.wow-europe.com/account/account-error.html", When clicked on the link i entered in Panic it said that my account was banned. I've changed my Account and mail password, I've done the Account recovery process (still waiting for it) and i even did a first Webfrom....From the first Webform instead of info about my problem or help to solve this issue i got a mail about "Blizzard Support Customer Satisfaction Survey", how am i supposed to fill this Survey if i didn't even be helped? |

Hi just wanted to report I got hacked today 01.01.2011
I havnt been playing wow since around halloween and was not planning to do so now ether as im busy. But I got a phone call earlier today from my cousin asking if I had recently been playing wow and that someone was currently online playing on my characters. So I quicky change my password and installed cataclysm to see what was up, and I was rather confused as I havnt been playing it, but a small amount of my gear was missing and 16k gold, but other than that everything was rather unharmed, maybe because he didnt get any time or was a novice hacker. I ticked a gm and did a clean install of windows 7 just to be on the safe side, and got all the gold and missing gear after I had finished installing everything, also change password once again. Not so mutch damage was made, more of it is mentally damage I guess, never gotten hacked before and been playing wow on and off since early beta. Its kinda paranoid to not know how they got the password, maybe from a keylogger? or maybe not, how muth important information did they get?, its kinda hard to learn from misstakes when u cant recall doing anything out of the ordinary life on the computer. And also I had my creditcard on battlenet as u have to have it to add paytime for wow, so he basicly made me pay for 1 month of wow. He could have billed me several long time subscriptions i guess, not smart to have things stored like that, same with my several diablo2/wc3 serial keys it is so easy for him to take them too, my copying them down. |

This is from a friend of mine, Turanor on Sunstrider:
"My account was compromised and I submitted an account recovery webform, but now I've been waiting 5 days without any information at all since their confirmation mail (they say it normally takes 10-12 hours). I'm not complaining but I'd be really happy for information, how long is it going to take? Is there anything I can do, such as calling Billing?" |

I am getting a number of e-mails supposedly from Blizzard saying that someone is trying to change my e-mail address. I do not want it changed but cant find a way to tell you. Hope this will do it. I have bought an authenticator which I hope will help prevent these continuous scam emails getting at my account, but I just want to say again, I dont want to change my e-mail!
Love you all, Diane |

I am posting this from another accout since i can't post on the forum on my own account
My account was hacked 2nd January 2011 (early in the morning hours CET time). I done the automatic account recovery. Did a full system scan, the only thing found was Adware.Tracking Cookies so no keyloagers or Trojans found. Have a new mail just for WoW now and also changed some passwords. I am wondering how long will it take till i have my account back? In case it helps there are only two characters i care about on the account: Noctifer and Tonuc both on Al'Akir (the characters on the other realms seam untouched and i don't really care about them). Looking at the amory it seams that on Noctifer my Resto gear was soled and resto spec changed to feral, while on Tonuc all items he was able to sell where sold (except the Heirlooms items). On Tonuc i had about 200gold while on Noctifer i had about 32k gold. The guy who hacked me was most likely from China since someone from China got into my mail account about the same time my Battle.net account was taken. Last login was about the same time i got Level 50 on my hunter, shortly after that i logged off and went to sleep, few hours after that my account was taken over. Is there any other way i can help you guys get my account unlocked again and items back? EDIT: forgot to say that i have my Battle.net account back after the mail was changed, only need my WoW account unlocked now. |

I just whant to give a massive thanks to the team I was hacked fell for a fake cataclisem beta invite, should of relised as I hadn't played World of Warcarft for over a year before that still I'm more viglant than ever now. I still get the odd email now and again saying stuff was changed in the old account email but anything that isn't from blizard gets automaticaly put in the junk file!
So here's to all of us who fell for such things keep you're eyes peeled and ready, there are thouse out there who will do anything to get there paws on you're account. Proctect it carefully, Add and authenticator and change you're password regualry, even you're account email if you think it's necessary. any how every things back and running smooth..any how you do wonderfull work. Keep it up! |

Zethry – Your friend’s issue has now been resolved. If there is anything still missing, please ask him to make an in-game help request with the details.
Goblinson – It appears that the reimbursal is now complete (including those low level characters you mention). However, if you find anything to be missing please follow the advice I gave above and make a ticket in-game. Zinn – Although I can’t answer the ‘why/how’ questions, it does appear that you have taken all the necessary precautions to prevent this from happening again. Don’t forget to look into the possibility of getting an Authenticator for that extra level of security. Gawyn – On the 27th December, we sent an email to your friend asking for some important information. Although we did indeed receive a webform from your player the next day, it did not contain the relevant information and unfortunately we cannot proceed without those details. Ask your friend to double-check his email inbox (including possible spam/junk folders/filters) to see if he can find that email and respond as per the instructions outlined there. Elfknights – The information you need is in the original post, please read through it and then make an in-game ticket with all of the details of the incident. Thanks. Wildgirly – The Authenticator was certainly a wise move, but I do not believe the emails you are receiving are from us. I believe they are fakes designed to steal away your account information somehow. Check out this sticky thread; Fake or ‘Phishing’ E-mails from Blizzard http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641151 Demiosz – Please read through the original posting and follow the instructions pertinent to your particular case. Zydaleath – This has now been resolved. Salenjak – This should now be resolved, the unlock took a little while extra to fully ‘take hold’ as it were. And finally some wise words from Sunastorm there. Don’t forget to check out the phishing email link I gave above! |
