that's nost likely till revered as that is farmable by killing Bootybay Bruisers. After that you'll need a whole lot more then 4 hours :)

Killed Admiral Shelly today after servers came up with my alt. Gave 5 rep at hated for Bloodsail. Pirates in grizzly hills still give rep for the goblin factions without damaging Bloodsail. If they haven't introduced rep to exalted with bruisers, it seems the grind just got a lot harder!

I thought I would take this opportunity to write down my story and thoughts about the upcoming changes due to The Shattering and Cataclysm regarding The Bloodsail Buccaneers. I've always regarded myself as a casual player, though I find that what I enjoy most in the game is to find the most unusual, difficult and time consuming endeavours and simply execute them. The feeling of completing such an endevour is probably the most satisfying feeling I've yet to experience from any computer game. There are many such things to do in the game, but few are as arduous as the grind to get fully exalted with The Bloodsail Buccaneers. Fist, a whole bunch of Booty Bay Bruisers. Then, joining the cult of Jazzrik in Badlands for a few months. Finally, after returning your saved quests, visiting High Admiral "Shelly" Jorrik every day for many months, only hoping you're not facing any competition. By the time I found out about this epic journey of crazyness I unforturnately had already returned all of the quests I should have saved until the final part of the grind... This made things more difficult. Having to fill the exalted bar at an average of 5 points every other day would take somwhere between one and two years...(!) -Excelent! Without wasting any time, I started the seemingly neverending grind. It became my dream to most likely be the first to do it this way, without the saved quests. During the time that has passed since then, I've witnessed the Exalted club grow and I'm happy for all you crazy people who made it to Exalted. Good job, and welcome to the club! Hopefully you saved your quests and managed to fill the exalted bar too. I'm sorry to say that I never got to fulfill my dream. Yesterday I reached 699/1000 and I will not be able to finish the grind to fill the bar before the upcoming changes. I suppose I'll just have to pretend the number six is upside down. ;) I'm not sure if a Feat of Strength would be the proper way to deal with the fact that some crazy people, including myself, actually managed to get Exalted with Bloodsail Buccaneers at all in the current game version. My personal oppinion is that the immense dedication players put in to this task until now should somehow be distinguished from the way it will be pursued after the upcoming changes. We'll see what happens. After all, it's just a game, though I wish I had the same patience for things in real life. ;) |

even tho patch 4.0.3a is out i still feel like i can post here (didnt know this, or the one on the old forums existed) since the updated BBBs dont seem to give rep yet u can tell ive not "cheated"... im currently at 954/1000 exalted with BB.... took me 2-3 months to get from reverd to exalted and about 6-7 months to get to 954/1000. killed 2x BBBs today and lost 250 BB rep, but gained no Bloodsail. (even tho a GM told me last night "just go kill some BBBs" when i QQed about shattering comming 2 weeks before cata and i needed 11 more kills for 999/1000^^) EDIT: if shelly is indeed still up i will have to go visit my old friend at the docks 11 more times^^ EDIT2: looked throu old SS and found out that i got exalted with bloodsail at 10-31-09, if wanted i can supply the SS to prove it. didnt realy start the "Shelly grind" until about 6 months ago tho. EDIT3: if u look at my armory u will see when i did the "Avast Ye, Admiral!" achi, i did that after i got exalted since i read it was smart to save it. |

Yes, Shelly is still up and his respawn haven't changed :(
Since I'm sitting on 18.7/21k I was hoping they at least changed his respawn timer so I can finish my grind and join the club. Unfortunattely it seems my effort went in vein... PS. You should add EU-Neptulon UD Rogue Toymaker to the list, we were competing for Jazzrik kills but he was a bit more persistant :) |

I hit exalted at 11-13-10, only killing Shelly once. Unfortunately I already turned in the Bloodsail quests when doing my Insane achievement. I've been grinding my cartel reputation back since then. For the second time, since I went honored with Bloodsail and exalted with the cartel a first time for the Insane... and decided I could as well be exalted with the Bloodsail.

Is there currently any way to get Booty Bay back to exalted ? I noticed I could still kill Venture Co. npc in Grizzly Hills, but I guess it stops at 11999/12000. |

I'll look tomorrow some chars in EU and US forums because here is almost midnight and I had to go sleep soonish.
Looked quickly some threads here and US forums and looks like you should be safe to do everlook and ratchet for loremaster. Any info about tanaris? Actually good news if can do all other areas for loremaster but not stv (10 points don't matter :P). |

Just as clarification, I decided to kill Shelly- he gave me 5 rep at 800 odd exalted. Killing venture company mobs in grizzly hill restores rep at exalted with all factions bar booty bay. Booty bay can be recovered in Tanaris at exalted.

anybody remember what patch they removed the rep reduction for killing mobs/doing quests of a lower lvl (and maybe the date). i remember reading somewhere (dont remember where) about this warlock doing the exalted grind before this patch, when Jazzrik only gave 1 rep a kill.... now thats hardcore. he ofc only did 499/1000 then since Shelly wasnt ingame then. PS. glad i did loremaster before shattering. seems i have to be carefull with what quests i do and what kill from now on :< |

thx Karmina. That would be the 20th of january 2009 patch. As far as I'm aware of there are only 5 people that did the grind at 1 rep, which would be the top 5 in the list. I finished 20999/21000 a few days before the rep change, but decided to grind goblins back before i finished the quest, not knowing you couldn't do the quests if you were not hated by goblins, which is why my actual exalted date is quite a bit later. And yes, doing it at 1 rep was hell, but I still think AB rep was worse!:p edit: are you positive about vynistra's date? his avast! achievement is in 2010 and he seems new there in the list to me :p |
