28 Jul Additional Information For Patch 2.6.0 Exploits Hey all, We wanted to provide an additional update in light of the community feedback we’ve received. It’s clear that more transparency is needed in this situation, so we want to provide some additional details and the philosophy behind the steps we’re taking to combat this and future exploitive behavior. In approaching this situation, we wanted to make sure any actions we took ensured the following key points: Not punishing legitimate players, including those who may have participated unwittingly, such as other members of a 4-man party where only the Necromancer and Demon Hunter were exploiting. Punishing the worst offenders. To do so, we will be issuing temporary suspensions over the upcoming Bonus XP weekend to those who are found to be the most egregious abusers, with a focus on those who continued abusing this exploit after we originally issued a public warning. This may seem lenient, and that brings us to a philosophy we’re working on: improving our communication. This includes both currently and in the future. Diablo III is a game designed to encourage players to find powerful combinations of skills and items. While the effect of this particular combination was unintended, nothing in the game explicitly indicated that was the case. It is our responsibility to clarify intent, and we simply weren’t quick enough with our communications. One more point we want to emphasize: We are not okay with exploits. We made mistakes in our communication and the speed of our actions, and for that, the community has our utmost apologies. Our intent is to continue to fix exploits and communicate clarity behind them as quickly as we can in the future.Meldheron14 28 Jul
19 Jul Update On Era 8 Leaderboards Hey everyone, During the beta for Patch 2.6.0, we anticipated that various bugs would surface. Thanks to efforts from our players and our own QA team, supported by a long beta cycle, we were able to catch the vast majority of these. Even so, we anticipated that some bugs would make it into the live game, so we prepared a few safety nets: End the previous Era before the patch went live to preserve everyone’s hard work in that Era’s leaderboards Delay the start of Season 11 to provide ample time to fix issues that pop up post-patch launch With recent reports from players, we have since verified and prepared hotfixes for the remaining issues which would impact the upcoming Season 11 leaderboards. Unfortunately, some of these have affected the new Era leaderboards which began last Tuesday. As such, we will be wiping these leaderboards to provide a clean slate for everyone that is hopefully bug-free. Additionally, we have been looking at underperforming items including Set items, and will adjust these accordingly. This includes a change to the Bones of Rathma six-piece set bonus based on player feedback. With this, players will only need to have four Skeletal Mages active to receive the full 2500% damage bonus. You can still summon up to ten mages at a time. We care about the integrity of the Leaderboards and we will continue to make changes as needed to ensure that the upcoming Season provides a fun and memorable experience everyone. Thanks for your understanding, and we’ll see you in S11.Meldheron39 19 Jul
12 Jul Regarding Challenge Rifts Hey all, Wanted to provide a few updates regarding Challenge Rifts. First, as some of you have noticed, the leaderboards currently track two sets of records: previous and current. We agree that it would be nice to have a place to celebrate the champions of previous Challenge Rifts, so we will be starting a regular, weekly blog that highlights the top 50 solo players each week. Second, as the beginning of Season 11 is just around the corner, we wanted to clarify something about Challenge Rift caches. Only caches that are earned during an active Season are able to be claimed by Seasonal characters. This is so that the optimal play of Seasons does not include stocking up on Challenge Rift caches during the non-Season to claim on your Seasonal character for a "head start." We're looking forward to seeing continued experimentation, discussion, and feedback on Challenge Rifts in the coming weeks.Meldheron0 12 Jul
12 Apr Direct all Necromancer Beta feedback to our NA forums To help us get the most of out of your feedback, we ask that those of you with access to the Necromancer Closed Beta Test post directly on the North American forums. If you have access to the beta, you should be able to view and post on the Necromancer Feedback and Necromancer Bug Report forums. Please note that these forums will be invisible if you don't have access to the Beta. If you experience difficulty logging in to post on the NA forums, you may need to first create a Hero (Character) in-game in the Americas game region before posting. You can do this by selecting Americas in the region selection menu just above the Play button in your battle.net desktop app. Once you have created a Hero (Character) there, you should be able to post your bug report. Also, please make sure to select your Diablo Battletag profile when posting on the NA forums.Virnethael0 12 Apr
27 Mar [D3] Patch 2.5.0 Now Live On Ps4 And Xbox One Greetings, nephalem! Patch 2.5.0 is now live for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For the PC version of the patch notes, please click here. This patch includes several quality of life updates and some new features, including (but not limited to): New Feature: Seasons for Console Seasons have arrived for the Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One! The support for Seasons has been included in the 2.5.0 patch. However, please bear in mind that the first Season for console players (Season 10) does not begin until Friday, March 31, 2017. Seasons are a fresh way to experience the game as though you were playing it for the first time—complete with rapid character leveling and gear upgrades. Special rewards, including cosmetic armor, a free class set of your choice, and other cosmetic goodies await players who tackle the season and complete challenges on the Season Journey. In addition, players can compete during the Season against each other via Leaderboards. Leaderboards will track competitive player data and can be accessed in-game. For more information on how Seasons will function on console, please see our blog here. General New Feature: Armory Players may now save up to five different builds per character using the Armory This new feature can be found in the town hub within each Act Saving a build in the Armory will snapshot your character’s current gear, socketed gems, active and passive skills, and Kanai’s Cube powers Equipping a saved armory build will automatically swap items and gear between the character and stash Crafting Material Storage Items no longer take up inventory space There is no longer a cap for stack size for crafting materials New Cosmetics Portrait Frames are now available for use Portraits earned from the Darkening of Tristram events and achievements will be retroactively added to your cosmetic list Primal Ancients Developer Philosophy Primal Ancients are for players who have largely completed gearing for their build and finished their Season Journey, but want to continue playing. They’re also for non-seasonal players who have great gear and spend most of their time gaining Paragon Levels and upgrading Legendary Gems. We want to extend the excitement of seeing gear drop or spending Blood Shards at Kadala past the point of getting Ancients in every slot. Primals provide an avenue for dedicated players to complete a build, without feeling like required upgrades. Legendary and Set items will now have a chance to roll as Primal Ancient These items are much more rare than Ancient items and have perfect Ancient-level stats on all affixes, including the item’s Legendary Power Note: Primal Ancients will only begin dropping after a character on the player’s account has reached Greater Rift 70 Solo There are separate unlocks for normal and Hardcore characters, as well as Seasonal and non-Seasonal characters The stats on these items will be tailored to the character class you are playing when the item first drops Primal Ancient items salvage into 15 Forgotten Souls Items Ancient Items Now salvage into 3 Forgotten Souls Several class sets have received revisions The functionality of some items has changed Holy Point Shot Has been updated to include a unique Legendary power Imaple throws two additonal knives Classes Crusader Shield Glare The Divine Verdict rune has been updated to apply its secondary effect even if the target is immune to crowd control effects Barbarian Seismic Slam The Rumble rune will now consume all remaining fury to increase the rune’s damage over time component by 15% weapon damage per point of fury spent Bug Fixes Demon Hunter Impale - Ricochet Fixed a bug where the second bounce granted by this rune would sometimes fail if enemies were packed tightly together. 17 Feb Ending Support for Windows XP and Vista With the launch of Patch 2.6.1, we will be ending support for Windows XP and Windows Vista in Diablo III. Microsoft ceased mainstream support for these versions of Windows in 2009 and 2012, respectively, but since a decent portion of our audience was still using them at the time, we continued supporting them. However, there have been three major Windows releases since Vista, and at this point, the vast majority of our audience has upgraded to one of the newer versions. After these older operating systems are no longer supported, the games will not run on them, so we encourage any players who are still using one of the older OSes to upgrade to a newer version. We’ll be rolling out this change on a staggered schedule, and will post further notices as we get closer to making the change for each game.Vaneras0 17 Feb

12 Jan Red Soulstone Shard Exploit Hey all, We’re working on a hotfix to address an exploit involving the Red Soulstone Shard. We plan to implement it as soon as possible in all gameplay regions and will be updating this thread once the fix is live. Along with this, we’ll be investigating accounts which have been found to be actively using this exploit to gain an unfair advantage and take action on these accounts accordingly. This behavior not only undermines the spirit of fair play, but directly violates our in-game policies for Diablo III. It is important to us to continue maintaining a stable, safe, and enjoyable online environment for all legitimate players. This is an ongoing investigation, and we’ll be continuing to monitor Battle.net and will take additional action as needed. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to game responsibly. Not only can using exploits lead to account penalties, but it can negatively impact the enjoyment of your fellow players. We're working as quickly as we can to fix the underlying issue, and we'd appreciate your help in keeping the effects of this exploit as minimal as possible until it's removed from the game. For more information on how to report exploitative behavior, click here. For questions regarding account actions, please refer to our Account Administration. Thanks!Vaneras0 12 Jan
06 Jan Known Issue: Portrait Frames Unavailable Hey all, With Patch 2.4.3, some of you may have noticed that you earned a portrait frame by completing certain achievements associated with the Darkening of Tristram event. However, there isn't currently a way to access or change your portrait frames on consoles. This is a known issue, and we are adding support for these portrait frames (as well as others) in the same patch that Seasons will launch on consoles. Once that patch goes live, any portrait frames you have previously earned as of Patch 2.4.3 and onward will be accessible/able to be equipped. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused, and look forward to bringing Seasons (and more) to you soon!Vaneras0 06 Jan

16 Nov 2016 A Message from Chris Metzen [POSTED ON BEHALF OF CHRIS METZEN] I had just turned twenty years old when I started working at Blizzard. Seems like a lifetime ago. Guess it was. Those first few years were the start of a very grand adventure for me, one that would take me around the world, introduce me to thousands of wonderful geeks just like me—and ultimately shape the course of my adult life. Of course when I started, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I had no idea how to make games or build entertainment products.… But I had an insatiable passion for ideas. For stories. For heroes. My only real training before joining Blizzard was the long-running D&D campaign I had with my closest friends—Sam, Mike P., Daniel, and Mikey C. (you know who you are, boys…HAMRO!). Building ideas—vast worldscapes, characters, and plotlines with my friends was my first great love. I lived for it. It was a safe space amid the tension and change of some rough teenage years. The grand refuge of D&D was a glorious meeting of minds and imaginations where I felt I truly belonged. It was a space where friendship and imagination were inextricably linked. The sharing of ideas on the fly, the crazy, unexpected turns other players would take—it stretched our imaginations in ways we’d never have dreamt of on our own. I loved how roleplaying through adventures taught us so much about each other—and, more often than not, ourselves. Imagining together helped us make sense of the crazy world we were growing up in. It made us stronger together. I wouldn’t really understand the depth of it for many years, but I had learned an important truth from my friends back then: Creativity is relational. Looking back at my years at Blizzard, I see now how profoundly this idea has shaped my career. I see how profoundly my friends and coworkers at Blizzard have shaped me as a person. For nearly twenty-three years I’ve had the very distinct privilege of shaping worlds and building games with the brightest creative minds in entertainment. I’ve walked with giants (and stood on some giants’ shoulders, too). In short, I’ve had the time of my life. I pretty much had the coolest job ever—but the truth is, sometimes it was really hard. Building games with dozens of brilliant, passionate alpha-geeks with their own red-hot instincts and perspectives can be pretty tricky. Coming to consensus about certain design decisions, story motifs, or courses of art direction takes a lot of communication, patience, and “give and take.” It stretches you. Sometimes it wasn’t all that pretty. But engaging with your teammates and collaborating through the potential quagmire of all that creative tension is where the real magic happens. It’s not just the decisions you come to—or even the final shape of the product you craft.… It’s bigger than that—and infinitely more important. True collaboration builds trust—and trust is the basis of all lasting relationships. With trust you build more than just a great product. You build a TRIBE…that can build anything. A family of craftsmen. That’s what Blizzard has been for me. My second family, through all of life’s ups and downs, it’s always been there. The great, geeky backdrop of my life. I don’t just mean “the job” or even the creative mission—but the people. The people who over and over lifted me up, believed in me—and pushed me to find my potential as both an artist and as a leader all these years. To my Blizzard brothers and sisters…I wish I had the words. Everything just sounds…trite. All I can think of is… You helped me believe in myself and achieve every one of my wildest dreams. I am forever grateful to you. I love you all with everything I’ve got. Thank you. And to all of you out there in Blizzard’s vast gaming community—those of you I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person and all of you around the world I’ve only heard about—thank you. Thank you all for letting me be a special part of your community. For letting me belong with you. We’ve shared countless adventures together and I’ve always been overwhelmed and humbled by your passion for our games as well your commitment to each other. Thank you for all the BlizzCon hugs, smiles, handshakes, and stories over the years. You will never know how much you’ve all touched my heart and inspired me to give my all into this craft. With that said, I’ll try to get down to the point, here. I’ve come to a turn in the road. A new, far quieter chapter in my life looms ahead. I am retiring. Yup. Hangin’ up my guns. Clockin’ out. Takin’ the last gryphon out of Stormwind. You get the picture. Crazy, I know. It’s a massive change for me, but it’s one I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. It’s ironic given the fact that things have never been better or more energized at Blizzard. Just this year alone has been incredible. Legion’s arrival. The launch of Overwatch. The Warcraft feature film. I’ve never been more proud of Blizzard and the quality of its products than I am now. It’s remarkable that even after all these years we can still reach new heights and take the world for an amazing ride. I believe Blizzard’s future is brighter than ever. I won’t lie—it’s going to be really hard stepping away from these worlds that I love. But I’m content that I’m leaving them in the hands of the most passionate, talented, and dedicated craftsmen ever assembled. I can’t wait to see where Blizzard’s worlds go next—and to experience them first-hand like everyone else does. As a fan. As an adventurer. Right back to the start. That’s just so cool… The reason I use the word “retire” is because I’m not going to some other company or starting up new projects or anything remotely like that. It’s been a long, amazing stretch of years. Now it’s time to slow it down. Rest. Lay around on the couch and get fat. Well, fatter.… Seriously though, I’ll be focusing on the one thing that matters most to me in all the world—my family. They’re the core of my life and the source of my deepest joy and inspiration. In addition to raising our two little ones, we recently welcomed our new baby into the family! Being home with them all, having time and space to really live…to love my wife with all my strength…that’s my career now. And I’ve never been happier. Ever. :) Peace out, y’all. I love you all. I’ll see you online. - ChrisVaneras12 16 Nov 2016

03 Aug 2016 [D3] Diablo III 2.4.2 Console Patch Notes Greetings, nephalem! Patch 2.4.2 is now live for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For the PC version of the patch notes, please click here. This patch includes a variety of item and skill updates, including (but not limited to): General Developer Comments Especially in group play, players were finding that pulling monsters from extended ranges to a single point on the map and crowd controlling them onto that spot was the most effective strategy. Not only does this cause server performance issues, but it is a stagnant, non-interactive way to play. These changes are targeted at making crowd control more situational, ensuring that individual contributors in a group can add to the damage of the party more frequently. Gold rewards have been adjusted. The primary gold sink at the end-game is Empowered Rifts. We want to maintain a general ratio that when you are running Greater Rifts at a particular tier, you can empower approximately 1/3rd of them. Due to the rate at which gold rewards from Greater Rifts and empower costs were scaling it made the gold reward from Nephalem Rifts, Gilded Barons and The Vault feel insignificant by comparison. Lowering the growth rate of gold costs restores the relative value of these other activities while maintaining the ability to empower approximately 1/3rd of your Greater Rifts. New difficulty levels, Torment XI-XIII have been added to the game Gold rewards have been adjusted: Greater Rift 26 and up has been rescaled to a flat 3% increase per tier Torment VII-XIII has been changed to match Greater Rift reward scaling The cost to empower a Greater Rift has been reduced to match the new gold reward rate The amount of gold dropped by the Gilded Baron Treasure Goblin has been reduced Knockbacks now apply a flat 40% increase to crowd control resistances Monsters cannot be knocked back if they are over 65% crowd control resistant Powers that apply knockbacks continuously, such as Black Hole, can bypass this resistance if they already knocked a monster back successfully. These powers increase the crowd control resistance by 20% per knockback instead of 40% Item Updates Developer Comments With Blood Shards and Kanai’s Cube, the need for the Magic Find stat has diminished since the game’s original release. Replacing the Magic Find property with Resource Cost Reduction made sense. We expect the Topaz will hone some existing builds and open up possibilities for some new ones. In addition to being one of the least popular gems, Invigorating Gemstone had a mechanic that was simply unappealing to many players. Our goal with Legendary Gems is to supply unique tools that complement a build. A gem that increases your healing is truly invigorating! Socketing a Topaz into your helm will now provide Resource Cost Reduction rather than Magic Find. This grants the same percentage bonus as Cooldown Reduction and caps at 12.5% Bottomless Potion of Chaos New Legendary Potion Teleport to another location when used below 40% health Graphical and sound effects have been added to the teleport Added a camera smoothing effect to the teleport Invigorating Gemstone Has been redesigned Each hit done increases healing received by 1% for 5 seconds Stacks up to 10 times You are now immune to Crowd Control effects at Rank 25 Several existing class sets have been slightly adjusted or received bug fixes Several existing Legendary items have been redesigned or received new powers Old versions of these Legendary items found previous to this patch will not be automatically updated with redesigned or added powers, and will need to be found again to benefit from these changes Firebird's Finery (4) Set Bonus Has been redesigned Dealing Fire damage with one of your skills causes the enemy to take 1000% weapon damage as Fire for 3 seconds. This effect can be repeated a second and third time by different skills. If an enemy is burning due to three different skills simultaneously the enemy will Ignite, dealing 3000% weapon damage per second until they die (6) Set Bonus Has been redesigned Your damage is increased by 120% and damage taken reduced by 3% for each enemy that is Ignited. This effect can stack up to 20 times. You always receive the maximum bonus whenever a nearby Elite monster is Ignited. Skill Updates Developer Commments With a plethora of Hatred spending attacks available to the Demon Hunter we want to find a unique role for Spike Trap. The redesign gives players more control on where and when Spike Trap damage was done using a mechanic unique to it. Using a Hatred spender to detonate opens up the capabilities of Spike Trap by allowing players to time their damage just right. We’ve adjusted several skills which provide buffs to groups. Taken together, these changes should encourage players in groups to contribute damage to their party, while also encouraging a more healthy variety of group compositions. For more information on this change please see this forum thread. All classes have received skill updates or bug fixes. Campaign Mode The Skeleton King will now drop Leoric's Crown beginning at Level 5 Adventure Mode Developer Comments The experience rewards for the actual completion of a Nephalem Rift felt too low, reducing the feeling of accomplishment for defeating the Rift Guardian and closing the Rift. This change is aimed at ensuring that the bulk of your reward is earned upon completion. Infernal Machine drop rates have been adjusted: There is now a 50% chance for a machine to drop on Torment I increasing to 100% on Torment IV Torment levels V-XIII have an increasing chance for a second machine to drop Nephalem Rifts Greater Rift Keys are now guaranteed from any Nephalem Rift and increasing the difficulty now increases your chance of getting a second or third key Greater Rifts Some of the Experience earned in a Greater Rift has been shifted from killing monsters to the reward for closing the rift. The overall amount of Experience earned should be roughly the same User Interface Pylons in Nephalem Rifts now have unique minimap icons The Menagerist Goblin now has a unique minimap icon May all your adventures fare well, heroes. The armies of hell await you in the depths of Sanctuary and your bravery alone is all that holds them at bay. 26 Jul 2016 Upcoming: End of Era 6 Season 6 has now ended and, following close behind, Era 6 is coming to a close. In Diablo III, an “Era” refers to a specific period of time in which non-Seasonal leaderboards are active. At the end of an Era, all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings will be wiped and players will be unable to attain new leaderboard ranks until a new Era begins. As with Seasons, players will be able to view previous rankings in-game and as well as on our website. However, unlike Seasons, Eras do not have a set duration and may or may not occur on or around a patch cycle or in tandem with a Season. Era 6 will be ending at the same time Season 7 launches on Friday, August 5 at 17:00 CEST. Era 7 will begin immediately afterwards. As Season 6 will be ending shortly, heroes that have become non-Seasonal will be able to participate in both the tail end of Era 6 as well as the start of Era 7. For more information on the end of the Season and the season rollover process, click here. Thank you for participating in Era 6! We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary.Vaneras0 26 Jul 2016
08 Jul 2016 Regarding the Fallen Pennant Drop Rate In Patch 2.4.1, we introduced a number of new cosmetic items to the game including a few extremely rare items such as the Cosmic Wings and Rainbow Portrait. Among the items intended to be extremely rare are Steffon’s Heavy Lance, Mace of the Crows, and the Harvest Pennant (also known as the Fallen Pennant). As 2.4.1 unfolded, we were surprised to learn that nobody appeared to have found these items. Weeks passed, we checked and double-checked the data, and ran some internal tests—these items were intended to be rare and hidden but perhaps we had hidden them too well? Unfortunately, it turns out we made a mistake. Instead of making the items extremely rare, they did not appear at all. The Diablo Development Team is sorry for this huge misstep on our part—I know that our mistake caused many players to spend hours trying to locate items which we now see in hindsight was a wild goose chase. How did this happen? Testing something that is intentionally extremely rare means we need to use some dedicated testing techniques. Our team uses a combination of code reviews, simulation and cheat codes to verify functionality. Sometimes things can appear to work correctly in parts, but malfunction when they are put together. For example, in the case of the Pennant, we were able to verify that individual portions of the criteria to obtain the Pennant functioned correctly, but the end to end process resulted in the Pennant being unattainable once the patch went live. The development team messed up and we’re sorry. The development team erroneously told our community team that the Harvest Pennant could drop. We can’t make it right overnight but we’d like to start with two changes: 1. We’ve certainly learned our lesson, and going forward when things are intentionally this rare, we’ll have new testing procedures to make sure a similar mistake doesn’t happen again. 2. Although we cannot provide direct restitution to the individuals affected, we’re going to have a 48-hour Double Gold and Blood Shards Community Buff for this weekend. WyattБрайвир0 08 Jul 2016

08 May 2016 Mercy Wings Now Available on PS4 and Xbox One With the launch of patch 2.4.0 on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One™, a new Overwatch-themed cosmetic item has been added: Mercy Wings. This item is available at no additional cost to players who own Diablo® III: Reaper of Souls™ - Ultimate Evil Edition™ on PS4 and XB1 and can be claimed by linking their Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) or Xbox Live (XBL) account with their Battle.net account. Q. How do I link my Sony Entertainment Network and/or Xbox Live account with my Battle.net account? To link your SEN account: Step 1: Create an SEN account, if you don't already have one. Step 2: Visit http://battle.net/playstation. Step 3: Log in to Battle.net with your account, or create a new Battle.net account. Step 4: Press "Continue." You will be redirected to Sony. Step 5: Log in to your SEN account. To link your XBL account: Step 1: Create an XBL account, if you don't already have one. Step 2: Visit http://battle.net/xbox. Step 3: Log in to Battle.net with your account, or create a new Battle.net account. Step 4: Press "Continue." You will be redirected to Microsoft. Step 5: Log in to the XBL account. Success! Your SEN and/or XBL accounts are now linked with your Battle.net account. Q. Will I have to link both of my Console accounts to my Battle.net account in order to get the Mercy Wings on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? No. You do not need to link both accounts. If you link your SEN account, you will receive the Mercy Wings on PS4. If you link your XBL account, you will receive the Mercy Wings on XB1. Q. How do I claim the Mercy Wings after linking my account(s)? To claim your Mercy Wings, simply log in to Ultimate Evil Edition on PS4 or XB1 and create a new game. Once you’re in-game, open your Inventory. Under the miscellaneous "Bag" category, you should find the item “Mercy's Gaze” containing the Mercy Wings in the "Items" tab. If you do not see the Wings right away, exit the game and wait a few minutes before re-logging. Q. Why are the Mercy Wings available at no cost to players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Due to restrictions with the way certain licenses (like cross-game promotional items) can integrate with our games on PS4 and XB1, players who purchase Overwatch™: Origins Edition are unable to claim the Mercy Wings bonus item in Ultimate Evil Edition on those platforms. While these players will be able to redeem the Origins Editions bonus items—including the Mercy Wings—on PC and Mac when they become available, we still wanted to find a way to let our community enjoy the Wings on PS4 and XB1. After some research, we found that we could offer the Mercy Wings as a reward for linking an SEN or XBL account with a Battle.net account. Though this solution makes the Wings available to all Ultimate Evil Edition players on PS4 and XB1 (and not just to those who had purchased Overwatch: Origins Edition), we think it’s the fairest option available. Please note that the Mercy Wings are not yet available in the PC and Mac version of Diablo III, and that you will need to purchase Overwatch: Origins Edition to claim them on that platform. We don’t have a date for when the Mercy Wings will be available on PC/Mac, but will be sure to keep players updated as info becomes available. For more information on Overwatch: Origins Edition, click here. Q. If I claim the Mercy Wings on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, can I still receive them on PC if I purchase Overwatch: Origins Edition? Absolutely. If you purchase Overwatch: Origins Edition (on any platform), you will be eligible for the Mercy Wings on PC/Mac. Claiming the wings on console will not affect this.Ulvareth10 08 May 2016

08 Dec 2015 Technical Patch 2.3.0b Going Live on Wednesday If you have participated in our most recent PTR phase, you may remember that before patch 2.4.0 was available for testing, there was a small technical patch called 2.3.0b. Well, the time has come to launch this smaller patch on the live client. On Wednesday, December 9, we'll be pushing out 2.3.0b to the live client. This patch has absolutely no gameplay, balancing, or content impact. Your in-game experience before and after this patch will be identical. So what does 2.3.0b do? It prepares us to launch Patch 2.4.0! We don't have a more specific date to share yet for the launch of 2.4.0, but if you haven't been participating in the PTR, you can test out all the new content and changes right now. Long story short, if you see your client update on Tuesday, keep calm and continue Rifting! It's not time for 2.4.0 just yet.Vaneras0 08 Dec 2015

14 Sep 2015 [D3] Monsters at your rift entrance? Click here! Greetings Heroes, We've been receiving a fairly large number of reports of monsters attacking players just after entering a new Nephalem or Greater Rift level in the past few weeks. We've identified a few problem areas internally, but due to the random nature of how we generate levels and distribute monsters in Rifts, we would like to reach out to all of you for help in narrowing down specific situations in which this can occur. In order to help us narrow down and hopefully resolve these issues, we need two data points: Which map or "tileset" did you encounter the issue on? What types of monsters were near the entrance and attacking you when you zoned in? Most of the problems that we are seeing with this are with specific combinations of the level itself and the types of monsters that the game has spawned in that level. Identifying which combinations are the biggest offenders may help us get these issues resolved. In order to help us with this, we'd like to request that the community provide us with screenshots of instances of this occurring, that clearly show what tile set is in use, and which monsters were present near the entrance of the rift. In addition, we kindly ask that you post the requested information (in English) in this thread on the NA Bug Report forum dedicated to this particular issue. We appreciate your help in this, and thank you for all of the detailed reports you've provided already!Vaneras0 14 Sep 2015

31 Mar 2014 Service Interruption - Week of March 30 Over the course of the last week, Diablo III, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, and Hearthstone players may have been impacted by high latency and disconnections during their gaming experience that are the result of a series of DDoS attacks on certain European internet service providers (ISPs). Although Blizzard's infrastructure was not targeted specifically by these attacks, the disruption unfortunately has had a ripple effect on a portion of our player population. While we are still closely monitoring the situation and doing what we can to assist, we wanted to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.Nidrorian0 31 Mar 2014

13 Mar 2013 Ask the Devs" Round 2: Itemization Welcome to the Diablo III Ask the Devs global Q&A. In this thread we'll be collecting your questions regarding itemization, having the community vote for their favorites, and then posting the answers we receive from the developers approximately one week later. [STATUS] LOCKED. Tallying votes and seeking answers. [TOPIC] The topic for this month is itemization. To view our latest update on itemization in Diablo III, click here. We also encourage you to check out recent posts made designers Wyatt Cheng and Travis Day for more information. [HOW IT WORKS] After approximately 48 hours, we'll lock the thread. At this point, you will no longer be able to submit questions or vote. We'll then look for the posts with the most votes in participating regions and pass them on to the Diablo III development team. The following week, we'll provide you a list of answers delivered directly from the developers. Depending on how many questions the developers answer, we may break their responses into multiple parts (posted on different days). [RULES] Only one question per post. Stay on topic. Questions that don't relate to the chosen topic (even if highly-rated) won't be sent to the developers. Discussion posts are not allowed. We ask that you only post questions in the Ask the Devs thread. If you would like to discuss related topics, please do so in another thread. You can vote for questions at any time while the thread is unlocked. A highly-rated post does not mean it will be answered, but we'll do our best to answer as many questions as possible. "Dislike" votes don't count. [TIPS] Please don't post or vote for questions you know we won't answer. We're not going to use these Q&As to announce new projects, expansions, or release dates. By the same token, we're also not going to answer questions that touch on subjects outside of the game and its design. Keep your question concise. One to three sentences should be plenty to explain background and ask a question. All "Like" votes count. While you can't see the vote tally, we can. Even if a post is already highly rated, your vote still means something to that question (potentially) being answered. Vote for as many questions as you like, keeping the above tips in mind. 23 Feb 2013 Dueling Re-Named to Brawling After reviewing feedback from the PTR, we've decided to rename dueling to brawling — a title we feel is much more fitting for the system. Rather than wait to announce this in the official patch notes, we wanted to let players know ahead of time, in part to reduce confusion and in part to explain the reasons behind the change. While the system we designed for 1.0.7 was developed in order to give players a fun way to beat each other up in Diablo III, we've come to realize that "dueling" wasn’t the best name for it. Sure, it allows players to pummel, stomp, immolate, and hex fellow Nephalem (over and over again, if they so choose), but it's not a traditional one-on-one duel. It’s something much more wild and open-ended, where you can engage in 3-person and even 4-person free-for-all skirmishes with few restrictions. The system is all about letting players fight for the sake of fighting—you don’t need to worry about objectives, rewards, or scoring, and that’s exactly what we love about it. But again, that’s not really dueling; it’s brawling! There's a lot of power in a name, and we think that the idea of a brawl more accurately describes the system we created. Heck, the NPC we added is even called Nek the Brawler, so we feel this re-branding must have been foretold in one of Deckard Cain’s prophecies. :) This change will be reflected in the patch notes, as well as in all related game text fields once 1.0.7 ships. We’ve no further changes planned for brawling at this time, but we’re excited to see what kind of havoc players will wreak in the Scorched Chapel once the patch is released.Nakatoir30 23 Feb 2013
