No sound.

Technical Support
Hello.

I played Diablo recently and stuff was working fine, but when I logged in today I got no sound in any stage of the game. I have the same headset, in the same port, with the same settings as last time (As I never unplug it)

Here is what I have done;

- Checked windows sound mixer (It's not muted, at 100% but no green bar is showing for sound).
- I checked all sound settings in game to make sure they were enabled. I disabled sound to then enable sound again, restarted the game but that didn't fix it either.
- I've used another headset which did not fix it.
- Swapped USB ports.
- Checked drivers for both razer synapse software and drivers for my pc.
- I get sound in all other blizzard games + everywhere else.

I can't think of anything else to do as of now, and hope someone here can point me in another direction, cheers.
Hello Fluffy,

Have you tried repairing the game to make sure there are no corrupted files?

I would also try a selective startup, just to make sure there are no background programs interfering:

If the issue persists, please create a MSInfo file and paste the content on the thread:

You can paste the content of the file on a web like Pastebin and provide us with the link.

I repaired the game, still no sound.

I tried the startup, nothing.

Here is the link to the MSinfo. I had to cut it after the first 10 lines of the Windows Error Reporting though, as my file size was WAY bigger than allowed. http://pastebin.com/JR2wu8uX
Bumb - I still have this issue, although it is only on my main PC (which is the gaming one), so it is a bit frustrating. As mentioned, all other blizzard games and steam for that matter does not have this issue.
Same here i have sound for 1-5 min gameplay then nothing and when i leave game it crashes
I have this exact issue on wow only have had it for a week web chatted sevrel wow people and also their technical genius people and no one has a clue have had issue after issue since patch. I have also reinstalled wow and batt nett
I played on my setup for a minimum of 3 years without a problem. This week I received the anniversal patch for Win10 and patched D3 as well. Since then I have no sound in game. All other games work fine as ever - maybe it is related to the windows update.

Look in your D3-Folder in the D3Debug.txt
there are lines with FMOD Errors:

I switched to onboard sound (Realtek HD Audio) this is working so far.
Sound worked perfectly until lvl 36 seasonal. Had windows 10 updates aug 12th 2016 and since then zero sound on Diablo 3.Every other game has no problems.
First step of troubleshooting is for you to do. Run windows update and verify no failed updates. Check motherboard site for driver / bios updates and verify all drivers up-to-date (video, audio, network, chipset). Post background information (computer specs, windows specs, video card and installed video driver version)

-- Exit Diablo 3 then delete D3Prefs.txt to reset to default (.../documents/diablo iii/...). Restart D3.
-- Suggest uninstall sound driver, reboot, then install new copy.

So I think Diablo needs a patch.

Hey guys,
This is a known issue that we are investigating, as soon as we have any new information we will update.

I Second this. I also have issues with cinematics being chuggy/slow motion without sound. Gameplay on high resolutions and quality are totally unaffected.
Just to provide a potential workaround to this while the investigation continues.

1.Go to the Control Panel.
2.Open the Sound settings.
3.Right click on the default device and select Properties.
4.Select the Advanced tab.
5.Set their Sample Rate to the 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality) option found in the drop down menu.
6.Click on Apply and OK, and test out the game.
