What happened to abilities?

General
I came from PTR now and wanted to open up a discussion about this as well.

To begin this. I started playing a warrior in live a long time ago now due to the enjoyment of being protection and having a hell lot of spells compared to any other class and spec out there. I like having a lot of options, a lot of mobility and high damage and so on and again, protection warrior gives me that enjoyment due to all spells we have available.

Now when i logged into PTR today i had a look on the spells there and my bars.
I seriously feel triggered by even looking at it. I have a sick rotation of 2-4 buttons including keeping my buffs up with 1 of them. I have no team-based buffs anymore. No taunt banners, no reduce damage taken buffs for members either, bearly any AOE outside of thunder clap. Nothing, zip, nada.

A lot of stuffs where merged into 1 spell instead of 2 or 3 and putting some in as a talent instead.
That results in having way less of them, that's fine for me in case they're useless but some wasn't.

Mocking Banner for a example was useful. Gather mobs with it or attack 1 mob put up a banner that taunts for you while your taunt is on CD and so on, i don't have that and i felt like i ran around like a idiot trying to AOE down all mobs with Thunder Clap and a 6 sec CD to aggro all monsters.

Outside of that i feel the lack of motivation to even contiune playing when the rotation is so simple, boring and dull by pressing same keys all the time over and over and over again.

What makes a game fun for me is the combat, it's the KEY part of any game to be fun, the moment that goes boring for me the game goes boring. I was surprised how bad it actually felt after even 1 dungeon on PTR.

it has even gone that far that when i do quests in WoD on LIVE i even stay in protection due to how boring fury and arms are in terms of lacking abilitys.

Now in legion it's even worse ^^ out of words. I am triggered and mad.

tl;dr:
Main feature of the old system: you have to choose from a passive talents (you can't have all - you have to choose, they set style of play), but almost all active spells are available for any class specialization (class integrity is maintained - build is what important, there were no specs), whereas in new system (especially in Legion) - you don't need to choose a passive talents (amount of "selectable" passive talents compared to the old system are negligible), you have everything (yes you have much more of them in comparison with the old system, but...), but you are forced to choose active spells (which they, according to the blue post, are going to do "equivalent" to each other) and you can't have all of them (so you got less stuff really to do) + seporate PvP panel => conclusion: there is only 1 choice you stay with - choice of specialization, everything else the system decides for you automatically (even used magic type of armor for mages, stances for the warriors/monks, shapes for druids, shields for shamans, forces for DKs and other stuff inclusive (used weapon http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/17612321151 , http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20747655583 , class fantasy http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20748736095#post-12 and about PvP http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20747735504?page=2#26 )) - http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20745096482#19

These are the DH bars if anyone is interested:

Vengeance (minus spectral sight):

Havoc (can have 2 more with talents, or even 2 less):

I'm honestly happy with them, it's just like most other class in fact - a good number of skills but not very many utility/fun ones to use. Big cd's are very limited now and some rotations are much less buttons.

I can't comment on anything but DH however so my post is limited to that.

So, what's Havoc's rotation? Complex, easy or somewhere in between?

Keeps changing but it also changes depending on the talents you pick. It's relatively simple but to get the good numbers you need to be good at managing cooldowns and resources else you'll lag behind other DH's from incorrect usage.

It's also not very good to play with the beta lag, I think it'll be a lot more enjoyable on EU servers.

Sounds good.
Copied my mage, and things are not better. First, there's a significant DPS nerf for both Fire and Arcane.

Fire no longer has any real potential without spreading Combustion, and it's now a sterile spec that performs mediocre and has little chance to do much better.

Arcane is unable to save up mana between Arcane Power/Evo burns; I assume this is because of our new Savant Mastery that has to do with mana pool and regen. Replaced all the haste I had for more mastery but it didn't do diddly squat.

Arcane's much celebrated burst is a shadow of what it is on Live. Doom Nova doesn't benefit anymore from Multi and decent Mastery levels and hits like a wet noodle; Prismatic Crystal is gone and there's nothing to properly replace it.

Pretty damn disappointing. I wouldn't trade my Live mage for this in 1000 lives. I assume you need proper 110 gear to have a properly functional class, so we gonna have to suck it up till then.
Fire mage is pretty dire.

I know people keep going on about artifacts making a difference, but in all honesty who wants to play for a couple of months just to start enjoying a spec you have to use everyday. Pvp talents will make a difference no doubt but the majority more than likely will never see them.

Bm spec on the otherhand, seems improved slightly. Its went from boring, to slightly less boring. Could quite easily play it with an xbox controller though.
Well, there's two ways to look at this. You can say "Oh, i miss my abilites" or you could realise how many of those spells were actually useless or would only be used in certain situations.
Rip Fire ;_;

Like already mention all the artifact traits are passive. I did not play 1 specc where a passive changed the rotation !

Every specc only gets 1 active from the artifact itself, the entire rest is passive. Some of these actives have 5 min CD on some speccs.
like someone said in the warcraft movie "whatever happens", "whatever happens"
Just tried out frost DK. I'm extremely disappointed. The spec is more boring than it ever was. UH was interesting though. I love having an abomination as a pet.
I bet folk will get really bored of their limited rotations and game dumbing down really quickly. Stand by for massive unsubbing 2-3 months into this expac.

Bring back Vanilla/BC Servers where you at least had to think - not this dumbed down pile of steaming poop.

Unholy DK, Fury Warrior, Enhancement Shaman, Shadow Priest and Demo locks are the speccs they did not butcher. Outlaw to some degree if it werent for the RNG of RtB.

That are all speccs where the feedback said they where somewhat interesting to play. The rest did complain.

Thats what we told you month ahead ! The new Zones and Animations are a Blast. But so where WoD at start from the leveling.

But as soon as the class design hits, and this is what you use 95% of the game, people will quit and its like WoD all over again. Maybe a bit different. There is more content, but your class with you play the content feels so boring people will quit over it.

Yea ik I read beta forums a lot. Can't believe how many problems are there that players have pointed out that are still being ignored.
Well the whole EU Forums are a farce anyway, if we compare them to US. Well not that they listen to US any more...

I just tried out Frost now, it seems to be a bit more spammy than it was before, still kinda dull to play, but much better than playing a Ret.
