Your view on (re)opening Blizzard EU store?

General
Can I just start off by saying the revamped Blizzard store webpage looks AMAZING! https://gear.blizzard.com/us/ and what I’m hoping to achieve with this post is getting some constructive and informative feedback from someone at Blizzard as to where they stand on the issue below?

The topic at hand is the EU having its own store, not just webpage i.e. gear.blizzard.com/eu/ but a distribution centre in the EU. The main complaint being shipping costs on items coming from the US.

My own background is that of a World of Warcraft player on and off since BC. I have been glued to Overwatch since early beta. I dabble in Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and also own Starcraft 2 (but I suck at it!). I’ll openly admit, I absolutely love love LOVE Blizzard. I have a (large) number of Blizzard merchandise, from official stuff like t-shirts to knock off items and even a few custom made pieces off etsy etc.

I hear from digging around there used to be a EU Blizzard store and it was closed due to lack of demand :( How long ago that was and the circumstances around that I’m unaware of but I did find this tweet from BlizzardCSEU on 30th June 2017 - https://twitter.com/BlizzardCSEU_EN/status/880856905136078849

With plenty more people asking Blizzard when an EU Blizzard store would be opened in response to a tweet from this time last year - https://mobile.twitter.com/blizzard_ent/status/797236981319090176 ….my question is "What is Blizzard’s official response/stance with (re)opening EU store?"

With Blizzcon 2017 having just passed, WoW seeing a new expansion, Starcraft being opened up to a plethora of additional players, new content for Hearthstone and MOST importantly (in my humble opinion) the Overwatch League starting early next year, surely someone must see the potential in offering EU Blizzard fans the opportunity to splash their cash on some loot.

Where are the London Spitfire’s going to be able to buy the Overwatch team’s supporting merchandise that is being promised as becoming available in December/January? I’m hoping somewhere that doesn’t incur huge amounts of import tax…mostly because I want to buy something to show my support. I’ll be watching every game and you’ve just got to be wearing the gear in order to cheer!

Listed down below are just a few of the scattered complaints and requests I’ve found browsing Blizzard and Overwatch forums as well as Reddit and even MMO Champion. I didn’t continue to scour and list WoW, Hearthstone, Diablo, HotS or SC2 forum posts because I think it makes enough of a point in itself….people want to buy Blizzard Merc who live in Europe without a huge price tag.

TLDR: Blizzard’s EU store was closed years ago. Renewed interests point towards the opportunity for Blizzard to offer Europeans a place to buy Blizzard merchandise without astronomical import fees. I’d love to hear some constructive and informative feedback from someone at Blizzard as to where they stand on the issue?

Posting this in the Blizzard, Overwatch and WoW EU forums for maximum exposure, I wouldn’t deem that as excessive but we’ll see what’s said…

Very positive, i would buy quite a few things if they are available in EU.

There are quite a few things i would like to buy reaching an amount of 370eu but cosidering the shipping is 85eu and the customs might be another 500 considering horror stories i heard i really dont feel like risking it.
I bought the plushie Wyvern cub and Griffin hatchling (for the ingame pets, gave the plushies to my sister :P) ages ago... would be more inclined to use it again if it weren't for the ridiculous shipping costs direct from the US.

That's going back some I purchased the same two, Kept mine in their little bags and they still look as new as the day I bought them. Love collecting items like those, sadly the new store prevents any realistic purchases for those of us in the UK.
I did ask about this recently and I am told there are still plans in the works for the EU physical online store to return. I know it has been gone a long time and certainly more than any of us expected when it was "temporarily closed".

Whilst I don't have more information than that, from experience, companies like Blizzard usually outsource the distribution and logistics of it. I would guess that the company doing the original distribution's contract ended and not renewed and they are possibly seeking a new contract partner to take it forward. That's just my guess though from working in this industry.
Here's my order history back when there was an EU Store:

https://imgur.com/a/OqdTw

I bought everything from an authenticator and trading cards to books, plushies and action figures.

I quite miss not being able to do that anymore.

You can still cover your book needs through Amazon or similar retailers. But you don't have access to that plethora of Blizzard merchandise and licensed products in the EU any longer.

It's very sad.

And I do feel Blizzard lets their EU fans down by choosing not to have a store here.
Blizzard has a Mission Statement with those infamous 8 core values they cherish so much.
You can find it here:
http://eu.blizzard.com/en-gb/company/about/mission.html

And I love those core values. They're values I can get behind as a fan, totally.

But I don't see how Blizzard lives up to the following ones:
Every Voice Matters
Think Globally

It doesn't seem like Blizzard listens to their EU fans very much - this matter should indicate that much. And it doesn't seem like they care much about investing in the EU market either when they remove a store that once was.

So yeah, it's a matter where I've felt disappointed in Blizzard for a long time now. And it gets increasingly frustrating as Blizzard expands their licensed products and merchandise. It sucks not being able to buy a physical authenticator if you're in the EU, and it sucks not being able to buy the Shadow charity plushie either. And it sucks big time not being able to buy the sculpted statues or the game-related clothing.

And Blizzard's silence on the matter speaks volumes. But what can you do...

I really hope this is true and that they will be announcing it sometime soon in the future
First thing I ever bought from the store was the Wind Rider plushie, then the store was "temporarily closed", only to never open again.

Shipping and customs/import taxes are too high if you want to buy several things from the US store (especially more expensive items such as statues).
With the springsale this year I decided to get 2 plushies that I've been after for a very long time. (The zergling and nether faerie dragon) With the sale it was about 25 euros in total, I decided to just get those 2 and stay under 30-50 euros because under a certain amount you don't always get the customs/import taxes. (Check it online, differs per country)
But yeah that still means I can never buy anything more expensive unless I'm willing to pay a lot more. So an EU store would be so much easier and cheaper. So please Blizzard, bring our EU store back.
I really hope they bring it back. In it's current form I'm not willing to use the US store due to the ridiculous costs of shipping/import with the couriers they use. :(

This! Giff EU store so I can get some nerd gear.
I bought the Tauren and Troll statues/toys from the US shop back in the day, and that I had to pay a lot of money to accept the box at my frontdoor. That stopped me from buying stuff again like the Lich King Sword I would have bought otherwise.

Anyway, I'm not really interested anymore in buying goodies but I do support having a store in the EU for anyone that would like to buy something and doesn't want to get surprised of having to pay additional costs which aren't cheap!
Yeah I was wanting to get soem stuff fro mthe store... but honestly, I am nto paying that much shipping costs.
I'm sure it would be profitable for them to open it again.
It would save us Europeans quite a bundle on import taxes, shipping and customs. Yeah it would be a little higher in price compared to the US since Blizzard would have to pay for the shipping, but it would be way cheaper for them because of large bulk orders but at least we won't end up having to pay three times or more of what the product is actually sold for.

Theyr large bulk shipments wil lbe outscaled to what people will buy in merch.
I don't even know if there is anything I want from it... but I can clearly say with all the fees it never makes sense for a Euro to order anything (unless you don't mind throwing away money). So the EU shop is needed.

I did use it back when we had an EU shop though. A plush wyvern for the waifu, she was disappointed about not being able to get a Pepe at a reasonable price.
I hope they open an EU store again, I'd love to buy some of the plushies.
ok dear Blizz hope u gonna read this :) if u can return us Eu shop if u cant or wont atleast pay for taxing it is taking us alot money I can buy one more plush with taxing prices...I wanted to buy myself plush Mischief taxes were almost 25$ so I would needed to pay double plenty of players are from EU and i bet ppls would buy merchandise like crazy from books dvd to plushies...so EU shop would be big score :)
While i am a big fan of games i'm not really interested in buying merchandize from their store at all. But i know there are plenty of people who do like that kind of stuff. Actually i take that back i wouldnt mind being able to buy the books from blizz themselves so they are easier to find and order in one go.

But i'm curious, why did they close the eu shop in the first place?
I would so collect all the plushies if I could buy them from an EU store.
