Proof: They used gnomes' updated model to depict Chromie in the WoW Classic Trailer

Not true, at that moment she was on current wow. You can see that by the Dark Portal.

And proof it wont: Ion said- "We know Vanilla means Vanilla"
It will be too much work, this s not something blizz can copy/paste from retail.

Basically for this to happen blizz have to assign a team to make it from scratch, and it will take very long time, chances are: very unlikely.

I think based on statements made so far, what is being offered isn't going to be a 1.x original server and client. If it's what they were going to provide they could do it right now. Why wait?

Even including whatever mish-mash of versions that they would have ideally wanted to provide wouldn't take THAT long.

What's going to take time is to convert the old data, and adjust the current server/client to support all of the features and setup from the vanilla game. Probably they want to make it more modular (and that will take time too).

I don't quite get where the idea came from that WoW:Classic was equatable to an actual 1.x 13 year old server and client. It just wouldn't make sense logistically.

What do we know?

Well, the data is convertible? How do we know? Well the outland/wrath zones were converted from the original versions in the current iteration of the game. So of course they converted it before. Likewise, most of these creatures have the same/similar AI spells/scripts as before. So this must have been converted once to whatever systems are in place now (or the current systems are backward compatible).

Talent trees? Well the whole UI is a whole world of LUA. Why couldn't they re-implement the older trees.

Spells, XP ratios, creature HP/damage, old world quests.. All data with probably some programming.

What's likely to take the time is implementing all this into a modern version of the client/server in such a way that it can be maintained, but is true to the original. What it doesn't mean is that the old, new or both can or cannot be available. It's perfectly possible to make both available to the player.
One of the most amusing troll posts I've read in a while, so thanks for the laugh.

alot of speculations, if that make you sleep better... whatever
There is no doubt they will be using current retail client as platform.
