Depression.

General
Not sure if its the right forum but i wanna try it,

Im suffering from an anxiety disorder + depression,

I play WoW for a couple of years now to get a bit of 'relieve' from the stress it all causes. But as time passes i feel WoW doesnt help me that much anymore since i dont have any friends with me that wanna play this game or either are trolls or just kids that think this illness is a joke.

My question is : How do i cope with a depression caused by an anxiety disorder apart from only play WoW?
You seem to have serious mental health issues. My advice for you: Don't look for advice here. It's the wrong place for it. Seek professional help.
A mixture of anti-depressants and social interaction with friends helps with it a lot, but it's different for different people.

Just remember you're not alone.
I've been there before and yes, professional help is the way forward.
I hope you get things sorted and feel better :)

I would say that being stuck at home 24/7 isn't a great choice - hence video games might not be a great help either.

Have you tried to go outside, even if alone, and interact with other people in real life?!
I would guess that the best way to fight a depression is with distraction, and mostly with distraction from the outside and other people.

But, if you really want to stay with only video games, I guess MMOs and MOBAs are the best options cause those might be the ones with more active players at the same time...
Find another game? Side activity? Going outside (job)? And don't worry about the past or the future. Just small steps and find what's fun and what isn't.
If that doesn't help, seek help from the therapist.

This is true.

Follow this advice, it's a good one. :)

Anxiety can be tough to beat, especially with depression. Seek help and find someone you can talk about it. I know it feels like an huge task, but you can do it.
I don't think this is the right place as none of us (i assume) are mental health experts and seeking out a professional is probably the best thing you can do.
I wish you good luck and hope you can fight through it!
As others have said, this is really the wrong place to get advice on mental health. If your anxiety is hindering your ability to work, etc then seek professional help from people who are trained and qualified for it, not random people on the Internet.

Here's an honest answer, which some people might find offensive. Others might know that whatever any therapist can tell you, the short version is "Get a life".

This includes but is not limited to: Going outside, making friends with previously unknown people, generally learning to cope with your anxiety and learning to enjoy yourself etc pp.

Also go see a professional.
If this isnt the normal weekend troll thread you should seek professional help. Ive had depression at one point but it was a side effect of a medication i had after surgery. Its no joke and you need to seek help for it.

Seek professional help.

As another person suffering from the same and using WoW to relieve the pain, this advice rings through. At least try a professional for few months.
Sorry to hear but I don't think anyone here on a videogame forum can be of any assistance. You ll be better of asking a professional.
Easy to say (very very easy, in fact), but not as easy to do - get out more. Get into some sort of physical exercise (whatever - martial arts of some sort, weights, running, volleyball, yoga - whatever). Keep a good, clean (-ish) diet. Stay away from booze and drugs and that stuff. Meditation is commonly suggested - it's no cure, but may help.

Well, none of these things are cures in themselves, but they can all help a bit. It's the getting started that's the difficult bit.

You don't have to stop gaming or anything, but find some other things to do.

And, of course:

I am no expert but I will say that I don't think playing WoW will help you with depression and anxiety. Gaming may be a temporary relief however the root causes need to be dealt with by seeking help. The issues you are dealing with will not go away by themselves and you cannot escape them in a virtual world.

Book an appointment with a doctor and explain what you are experiencing and he will likely refer you to a specialist who will give you the help that you need.

Depression is quite serious and coupled with anxiety it can really cripple your ability to live a normal and fulfilled life. Book that appointment first thing tomorrow morning.
I used to be in the same situation like you. Or maybe I still am, sometimes I don't know. Elf#22906 add me if you wanna talk.
Here's how i did it.
Go and do stuff alone. Without anyone.
Go to the gym, go to the concerts.
Do everything that you get anxiety from.

Little by little, you will start meeting people in the gym, in random places, in random moments, and as time passes by, you won't even notice that you've learned how to handle your self, respect yourself and value your self.
Do not think of anything else or anyone else but yourself.
Rest will come naturally. Keep working on yourself and try to learn something new everyday. That will give your day a meaning, and in the long run a meaning to your life, and by the end of it, who knows, you might grow into a new Genious.

Good luck my friend :)

I know you mean well but this is by far one of the worst advices to give anyone who needs professional help. Most suicides because of depression/anxiety happen because we're constantly implied that we should be able to handle it all ourselves. And that's what your advice says between the lines.
My life change for the better. When i started to eat better, work out.

I eat 2 1/2 kg. vegetables. Pr. week. Low fat proteins. 2-3 liter water pr. day.
Eat a lot of rye bread and Eat high fiber breakfast. I eat fruit when i want something sweet.

Start walking a lot instead of using the car and bus. Then start going to a gym.

But start small and don't try to do all at once. Start with the water and find a diet there works for you.

Start with small goals and work for a bigger goal. It's not about how fast. It's more about reaching your goal.

My life changed for the better when i stopped smoking cigarettes. Started to get enough water, started to eat better. Started to work out.

I have Skitzotypisk personality. But after i started working on living more healthy i don't need medecin anymore. But don't focus on medicine focus on good living.

Last advice. Remember not to use WOW as a hiding place. Real world is the place to be
Eat organic food and low carb, never anything processed. Drink filtered water. Sleep 8 hours every night. Get some direct sunlight every day. Do exercise (not long aerobics). Your body and mind will start to heal itself when its given the right conditions.
