Eau de Moral Grey.

That made me think about Dorian Gray, and then Sylvanas hiding somewhere a portrait of her ghastly rotten self.
My brain is a lot of fun...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sylvanas is a really well written character because she's really sexy but Jaina is even better!

Unless you're trolling, she's pretty much a smelly corpse who for has been written as bad as a moustache twirling cartoon villain so far this expansion. Very skeletor/dastardly esque, with Nathanos being muttley. Like sure I've never liked her but damn they seem determined to write her badly.

Oh and don't forget the comical warbinger scene where she powerslides into arthas and roars like a tiger xD

Well in canon her skin is supposed to be cracked and peeling off as per Lor'themar's short story.
Lor'themar's short story wasn't actually written by Blizzard, and later sources that were written by them suggest Sylvanas is very well preserved (to the point where living people can and do find her attractive).

So as much as people don't like it, I have to assume she's not really a rotting corpse at all.
Dunno. Forsaken are a smelly lot per the recent lore, so much so that a gathering of them is quite unpleasant to the living. Sylvanas being all impeccable and pristine however, probably doesnt suffer the same troubles in that regard.

Sylvanas and Nathanos underwent a special ritual that stopped their decay and even reversed it entirely.

They smell like elf and human do. It's even described in A Good War that Nathanos smells like a human, and not at all like a corpse. Various sources mistake him for being human due to his smell.

Thanks maarod, you’re like my argent handibook.
Botox does wonders, even with your smell.

This can't be happening......
The more important question is does she smell as good as our noble High King Anduin?

Thanks to Anduin's healthy diet of sausages, no she does not.

Alliance win again.

Anduin has that distinct manly black dragon odour that makes him smell fierce, intimidating and (to other dragons) claimed by Wrathion.

Hot damn
She's a banshe, not a undead. If she was a rotter in bones, I would find it hard to belive she could turn to her banshee enrage. She's more of a ghost with a twisted immage of her former self.

Banshee is undead also.

It has been said in Edge of Night novel that undead flesh is neigh impossible to destroy normal means. Only saronite, Old god infused iron alloy could destroy the flesh entirely
Well, she does have a nose so I think she can smell.

That seems very odd and counter to almost everything we've seen. Even in later publications it's shown that undead are actually quite brittle and hard to heal, and that they have to have their parts replaced, and that they do indeed still rot. That humans are definitely stronger and sturdier than your average Forsaken and undead.

Death Knights have that rune and unholy strength going on, sure, and they're a special breed of high-quality undead.
Anyone else find it creepy they've gone to some lengths to emphasise that it's OK to find a walking corpse attractive?
I imagine that some undead smell horrible. Others aren't so bad. It depends more on the state of their body before their resurrection than it does on the fact that they are undead. It's stated that some are mummified, others are practically still human.

Sylvanas covers her stomach because she was apparently stabbed there, so I imagine that there is a gaping wound there still. Maybe she even had herself disemboweled and embalmed like a mummy. Who knows.

I certainly don't.
