RNG at it's finest.
Congrats to the guy. Still waiting for my first BoE from Uldir myself...

Edit: Clarification - He got three BoE's from the same trashpack.
Sweet, would sell for lots and lots of gold
I feel rather guilty here... Within the first 2 weeks of bfa I got 2 350 boes, I got a 360 the first week of raid, another 350 that same week, a 390 the following week, another 350 the week after and picked up yet another 360 last night. That is across 4 120s, but still, I have made a fortune selling them but feel horrible that the majority of my guild haven't even got one. :(

Then next you can sell to your guild mates and they will have at least that one.
I think I've had one BoE from a raid mob in the past 2 expansions, and that was a Normal Mob on my Rogue near the end of Legion xD
I don't think it's random as people think.

People think it's:
1. Item 1
2. Item 2
3. Item 3
4. Item 4
5. Item 5
6. Item 6

then a dice like roll happens and you get that item

But I think it's

Item 1 roll 1/6 If success stop.
Item 2 roll 1/6 If success stop.
Item 3 roll 1/6 If success stop.
Item 4 roll 1/6 If success stop.
Item 5 roll 1/6 If success stop.
Give item 6.

It would really explain a lot.
thats 1 in a gorylion chance
Actually, I'm not even mad.

That's impressive!
The house always wins I guess. Once lucky forever lucky.

"You Think?". That's not even proof.

I believe it's an algorithm that has two parts to it.

1). First part: A baseline % which starts low (i.e 10-20%) but grows quickly each time you dont get something (i.e. +10-20%) and then after receive something it resets back to it's baseline - so this part effectively determines WHEN you are to get loot.

2). Second part: is an underlying secondary determiner % that (even lower than the baseline) that decides whether you are due to receive something useful. This would be based on time played and ilvl.

So the baseline % determines whether you get something.

The second part of the algorithm determines whether what you received is to be useful and this is based on time spent and ilvl or current gear (so more time and higher ilvl the lower this number will be).

The only RNG part of all this is when the algorithm decides you are to get loot - once this is determined (good or bad) the RNG spinner kicks in and out come your stats.

This system ensures that people get loot over a set period of time (usally an average) and protects those who have started late. It also protects against those who want to farm day and night because the % of the second part will just lower the more useful gear you receive.

It's horrible, conceited and has profit driven incentive written all over it.

All Blizzard had to do then to obtain complete control over loot was to remove Master Loot ...oh wait.
