Enhancement Shaman PTR Changes

Battle for Azeroth Class Development
In an upcoming Public Test Realm (PTR) build, several changes are coming for Enhancement Shamans.

We’re adjusting the following talents:
  • Boulderfist damage bonus increased to 35%.
  • Lightning Shield will no longer generate any bonus Maelstrom when the Lightning Shield overcharges.
  • Landslide changed to a 40% proc chance.
  • Forceful Winds reduced from 100% per stack to 80% per stack.
  • Totem Mastery: the Storm Totem benefit increased from 5% to 10%.
  • Hailstorm’s damage increased by 50%.
  • Overcharge now causes a 9 second cooldown to Lightning Bolt, down from 12 seconds.
  • Fury of Air damage increased by 40%.
  • Crashing Storm damage increased by 40%.

Lightning Shield and Forceful Winds are both popular talents right now, and we don’t want to reduce Enhancement’s overall damage with changes to those two talents, so additionally:
  • The damage done by all Enhancement abilities increased by 5%.

The changes above should help make the different choices on many talent rows much more competitive with each other.

In addition to these changes above, we’re adjusting how many tooltips are generated. This may cause some websites to show that the damage or healing of almost every single Enhancement ability has changed. Do not panic; we are not lowering all of your damage and healing! This will be a behind-the-scenes data adjustment only.

Thank you for testing with us on the PTR!
Honestly, I think everything was said over the weekend on the NA forum post. Unless there are diffrent and real changes coming out the majority of enhancers are gonna reroll, myself included. I had faith, i really did but as it seems there is nothing else coming, cause otherwise it would've been mentioned.

P.S. I'm not mad or angry, just disappointed.
Bull!@#$ that we get that 3 days after the americans.

I'll re-iterate my points from the NA Forums for Taepsilum / Blue who I daresay will get an unfair amount of blame for this. Don't shoot the messenger people!

These changes are not good enough.
That goes for Enhancement and Elemental. Can't comment on others, I don't play them.

Both of the spec's have fundamental problems. There is no benefit / buff for having this classes over a frost mage / DH / BM Hunter / Arms Warrior, etc. We're still awaiting an explanation of our Niche (which Ion Hazzikostas said each spec should have).

We also suffer from mechanical problems, With maelstrom cap and RNG on enhancement, along with elemental being not quite strong enough to be a turret, not mobile enough to be anything else (along with Echo of the elements still being a talent despite basically being a mechanical requirement for the spec)

it does NOT. I repeat, DOES NOT take 8 months of feedback since alpha to implement the fixes that have been implemented. We were told to wait until 8.1. to solve mechanical problems in one of Ion's Q&A's, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN DONE.

The community is getting tired of this. We don't just want one blue post in a blue moon. We're past that point now. It's time for either an AMA, an open discussion (with back and forth responses), or some other medium in which our feedback will be clearly heard. I've lost faith in posting feedback on the forums and hoping for the best.

Please tell the dev's to sort it out, and more precisely tell them THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH

You can also ask them the question I've been asking since MARCH.
Why would someone take a shaman DPS over any other class?

I also expect some sort of response to at least acknowledge we've been heard. Tired of hearing nothing. A simple 'We hear you, passing it along' will suffice. Blizzard keeps talking about improving communication, time to do it.
Reposting a 2 day old Information to EU which atm has 12 sides of user concerns, without going into any of those....

Where is a Phone number where i can talk to a real person about my concerns, Forum seems not to be the location where you listen to users.

Looking back at the enh. user feedback since alpha, which you completly neglected, just confirms this.
too bad you buffing spec that is R1 in pvp, while ignorinw warlocks and DKs which are garbage specs.
These changes just swaps the talents we have to use, without even touching any of the underlining issues presented by the core mechanics of the spec. The fact that maelstrom is basically just a cooldown for lava lash, Stormstrike being complete feast or famine and there being no choice within the talent tree.
10 weeks ago, i would have called these changes "too little, too late".

This just shows how disconnected you are from your own playerbase. On top of that all, we got this few days after NA forums.
Is this some out of season April Fool's joke?
Just as people before me said, posting this three days after the US forum blues did is crazy unacceptable!

And those changes are worthless, you know damn well it's not what is needed and you can't spin that as a first step or focus on talent diversity when you know the core gameplay is broken.

Anyway no need to tell again what's wrong with the spec or what you've been promising past Q&As, your decision to ignore feedback and to avoid communication is concious which is damn toxic! And those changes are just the final nail on the enhancement coffin.

So disappointed that you don't care...
disgusting that we can't get a response on either forum to say they've heard this.

Blizzards !@#$ing communication is a fiasco. You call yourselves community managers but can't even let the community know if they're being heard.
Then we have the class team devs, who need to be fired.

If I were to say 'Get hit by a bus' or anything else, you'd quickly delete my comment, but can't take 5 %^-*ING SECONDS to tell us we're being heard!

Because how are we supposed to trust that we're being heard anymore? It's been 8 months. 8 WHOLE !@#$ING MONTHS and this company treats us with contempt, refusing to listen, refusing to give a %^-* and refusing to even acknowledge our feedback. These changes prove that.

Having worked in the UK for a US company for 10 years this is EXACTLY what happens all the time.

Team in US work on something and get it out the door on Friday. No one thinks to tell their counterparts in Europe in time (perhaps organisational failings, perhaps time differences). Someone notices or remembers or more likely someone kicks up a fuss on Monday that it happened again and then, bang, finally on Monday the UK / Europe get the memo and post the equivalent.

It's just the operating culture of US companies. The guys posting this stuff are rushed off their feet with all manner of pressures and other priorities, having to duplicate stuff or keep Europe in the loop in real time is sometimes too much of a burden and they let the odd thing slip.

I know it sucks, I've had a decade of Monday morning curve balls....

tbh, do the ptr forums even need to be region specific? in fact, is there any reason to keep anything but the realm specific sub forums seperate for english speaking regions?

I always see unholy DKs at the top of the meters in BGs
To echo the general sentiment, this is just shifting things around without actually changing anything - although, if I'm supposed to be using two weapon buffs at the same time, while playing whack-a-mole, in order to do decent damage, I think Enhancement will be shelved for me.

I loved this spec in Mists - I really disliked the awkward AoE mess it turned into in Warlords, but rekindled my passion for it in Legion, after the spec was fixed.

Blizzard really need to listen more to the community instead of looking at metrics and statistics - if nothing else, at least tell us that the design teams vision for the spec is very different from what players want it to be, so we have a chance to drop it like a hot potato before wasting time gearing up, hoping it will improve

yea cause our plagues doing 1000 dmg per tick per person, so imagine all those ppl fighting mid and getting this plague useless dmg.

60% of that dmg is useless.

Now compare UH DK dmg to boomkins, which have 3,4x more dmg than us.
Looks like u dont have any time to rework a class that need it, u dont hear any of the feedback. Just hope ur actions keep going down because this is a beta, not a game (classes not balanced, fun issues, nearly half of the dungeons bugged... etc) and ur community players have to pay for playing for this garbage? hahaha funny joke. Unsuscribing
So whack-a-mole casino spec gets a bigger jackpot... won't really help much when your out of coins.
