There seem to be a fair few threads with questions on the World of Warcraft Annual Pass and the requirements for it. For the sake of clarity, I am posting the official FAQ below which should hopefully clear up any questions you may have.

What is the World of Warcraft Annual Pass?

This promotion is a limited-time offer that provides you with a free copy of the highly anticipated Diablo III, access to the beta test for the next World of Warcraft expansion, and Tyrael's Charger, an exclusive in-game mount for the associated World of Warcraft account, when you agree to a 12-month World of Warcraft subscription commitment.

How do I qualify for this promotion?

To qualify for this promotion you must be an adult in the United States of America, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or Singapore and have a valid Battle.net account with an attached North American or European World of Warcraft region license in good standing on or before October 18, 2011. Also prior to accepting the offer you must have a recurring World of Warcraft subscription active on the associated account. Other restrictions may apply and can be found in the Terms and Agreement.

I have multiple World of Warcraft accounts on my Battle.net account. Are they all eligible?
While you may sign up for this promotion on multiple World of Warcraft accounts attached to a single Battle.net account, only one Diablo III license and one opportunity to participate in the beta test for the next World of Warcraft expansion per Battle.net account will be added.

What if I have an "unmerged" World of Warcraft account (an account that hasn't been associated with a Battle.net account)?
If you meet all other eligibility requirements and would like to take advantage of this promotional offer, then you would need to first create a free Battle.net account if you haven't already and associate your World of Warcraft account with that Battle.net account. All of this can be done on this page(https://eu.battle.net/account/management/wow-account-conversion.html). For further information about merging a World of Warcraft account with a Battle.net account, see this FAQ:-
http://eu.battle.net/en/account-merge/

Can I create a new World of Warcraft account to take advantage of this promotion?
To be eligible for this promotion you must have a World of Warcraft license in good standing on or before October 18, 2011. New World of Warcraft accounts created after October 18, 2011 are not eligible to for this promotion.

My World of Warcraft subscription is lapsed or inactive. Can I reactivate my subscription to take advantage of this promotion?
Yes. You will be eligible to receive a free copy of Diablo III and the other benefits of this promotion if you meet the qualification criteria and once you reactivate your existing World of Warcraft account and agree to a 12-month subscription commitment.

If I sign up on multiple accounts, what do I get?
Each additional World of Warcraft account that signs up for this promotion on a single Battle.net account will be able to receive the exclusive in-game mount, Tyrael's Charger.

When will I receive Diablo III?

Diablo III will be available to download via your Battle.net account when the game is released.

What if I purchase Diablo III separately?

Only one Diablo III license may be attached to a Battle.net account.

What if I purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition?
If you decide to purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition when it's available, and then choose to add your Collector's Edition license key to the Battle.net account associated with your existing World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion, you will receive all of the benefits associated with the Collector's Edition, plus receive four months of World of Warcraft game time which is eligible towards your 12-month subscription commitment. After you purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition you just need to input the product key into the Battle.net account associated with your World of Warcraft 12-month commitment and that account will then receive the next 4 months of World of Warcraft game time for free. For example, if you already had a month of game time on the associated World of Warcraft account when you input your Diablo III Collector's Edition product key, it would then be 5 months until your next subscription payment was due.

When will I receive the Tyrael's Charger mount?

The exclusive Tyrael's Charger in-game mount will be added to the selected account and available via in-game mail with the release of Patch 4.3.

Is the mount available for all characters on the account or just one?
Once activated, the exclusive Tyrael's Charger in-game mount applies to all present and future characters on the associated World of Warcraft account.
Is Tyrael's Charger a ground or flying mount?
Tyrael's Charger can be used as either a ground or flying mount.

What speed is the mount?
The speed of the mount scales based on your riding skill. This can vary from 60% ground only with Apprentice Riding to 310% speed while flying with Master Riding.

Can I cancel my World of Warcraft subscription at any point during the 12-month term?
By taking advantage of this special promotion, you are committing to a 12-month World of Warcraft subscription, and you cannot cancel your subscription until the 12-month term of the agreement has ended.

Do I have to have a recurring subscription for the entire 12 months?
Yes, a valid recurring subscription must be maintained during the 12-month commitment.

Can I use game cards with this promotion?
Any qualifying game time added to the account may apply to the 12-month subscription requirement.

Can I use PayPal to make monthly payments for this promotion?
No, PayPal is not a valid method of monthly payment for this promotion.

What if I need to change the credit card for my subscription?
You may do so through Battle.net account management; doing so should not affect your 12-month commitment.

I have an active subscription already; what happens to the time I already paid for?
Any qualifying subscription time remaining on the account at the time of accepting the Annual Pass offer may be applied toward the 12-month subscription commitment.

For example: If you had started a 6-month subscription 2 months prior to accepting the Annual Pass offer, 4 months of your remaining subscription time would be applied toward your 12-month subscription commitment.

Can I use the beta-test invite for a beta test of my choosing?
The beta-test invitation will only be valid for the next World of Warcraft expansion.

Is the beta-test invitation transferable?
No, the beta-test invitation is only valid for the Battle.net account associated with this promotion and may not be transferred.

TL;DR? Account eligibility is currently under investigation.
————————————————————————————————————————————————

We’re aware that a large number of customers are experiencing issues when trying to sign up for the WoW Annual Pass, including in some cases being told that the account in question is ineligible for the promotion.

If you find yourself in this situation, please first take a moment to read through the World of WarCraft Annual Pass FAQ on our official Support site;

World of WarCraft Annual Pass FAQ
http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_GB&articleId=54845

If you’re receiving the message that your account is not eligible for the promotion and, having read through the above FAQ, you believe your account should be eligible, please be aware that we are currently investigating the situation– if possible, you should remain patient and try again in a day or two.

Update: We continue to investigate matters, and would ask that you please do not raise additional tickets about the situation.

As soon as our investigation is concluded, all accounts that should be eligible will be flagged as such, so please just keep an eye on your Battle.net account to see if your own account eligibility changes.
Reported for sticky!
I'd like to throw in a quick point about whether the promotional offer is worth it.

If you think you're likely to still be playing WoW one year from now then this promotion is definitely worth it. (free game, beta thingy and mount for something you were already paying for)

If you don't think you'll still be playing then don't take up the offer, since subscription cannot be canceled.

Personally i signed up. Free stuff for something i'm gonna do anyway is too good to pass up for me :D
i'm prolly blind but what is the actual cost of this?

There is no additional cost, you simply commit to continue your subscription for 12 months.

It costs you nothing extra you just need to pay sub evry month for 1 year and thats that.
So if I decide I don't like the expansion, I'm still bound to it : /

Doesn't sound very enticing to me. None the less, well done for the effort put in to the OP.
Can u choose if you do it monthly or 3/6 month one?

Or does it have to be the "monthly" one?

Actually you can set to other options. Mine is every 3 months (as it was my current payment setup).

Actually come to think of it, i think the every 6 months might work out the best as if i remember correctly that sort of subscription worked out the cheapest too.

You can complete the 12 months in 1, 3 or 6 monthly subscriptions.
i just checked it i can choose 1/3 or 6
but im just scared it counts for my free american vanilla account instead of my current timecard european account.
( i had to get on ptr via the american way >.>)
edit 7 seconds shammoz? really!

I don't think so, mainly because this contract lasts a year and I don't think the next expansion will come out within a year (my guess is an announcement release date next blizzcon).

And even then, you only need to have an active sub, you don't have to buy the expansion if it so happens to come out before your contract ends. Ofc, you then still pay for a sub to a game that is behind one expansion.

I think this is probably a very good assessment. The next expansion has not even reached Friends & Family Beta yet, so it is still quite a way off.
4,3 is the last patch and with other mmo's and certain games on the way i reckon MoP is closer then you'd think.

You are only bound to keep playing WoW for 12 months, after that you can cancel sub do what ever you want and you will still keep Diablo 3

You can use game time cards to pay for your game time. However, you do need a credit card associated with your account (or a country specific method like Direct Debet). Haven't tested it yet if you can remove it afterwards. But that does mean that you can by game cards and enter the codes and it won't charge your bank account (unless you let your sub time run out before you add a new game card).
Aramia,
You need to set up a sub plan with credit card or debit card, than if you want you can keep on buying game cards and that credit card/debit card won't be charged.
