Launcher Runtime Error (Microsoft Visual C++)

Technical Support
I updated world of warcraft after quite some time. I get this error now after the launcher is at the "applying non-critical updates".
I have been searching around for a solution, but nothing works.
So far I tried updating .net framework and microsoft visual C++.
Anyone familiar with this error or anyone that can point me to the right direction?
Also I have read thread mentioning that it is a microsoft side problem but nothing that the troubleshooters suggested worked for me in various threads.
here is a screenshot of the actual error http://imgur.com/4rPiT
Hullo,

Could you please paste a DxDiag? http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article/19397

There's one thing in particular I want to check. ^ ^
Hi there,

Can you make sure you have the latest Windows Updates available for your system:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

And then try the game again?
I am running windows xp on service pack 2, as i said on my previous post i have only updated .net and c runtimes. I cannot update windows with the latest updates and i can't intstall service pack 3. I am only looking for a solution not involving updating my OS for obvious reasons.
As a side note my other machine runs xp sp2 and it runs perfectly.

here it is http://pastebin.com/LQ4UeCTm
So, to summarize, you're being affected by an incompatibility issue and wish to be offered a solution that does not involve downloading the update which resolves said incompatibility issue?

Try this: http://www.indra.com/8ball/front.html
I am also giving you a link to the crash report, if you can figure out something from there

You can save the sarcasm Doomsinger, but you are talking about incompatibility when the launcher runs perfectly on my other machine which runs xp sp2
  • Close the game client.
  • Close the launcher.
  • Open your World of Warcraft folder.
  • Delete the Cache folder.
  • Open the Data folder.
  • Delete the Cache folder.
  • Deleting the cache wont cut it, I have already tried that approach
Did you try deleting both of them?
Deleting the cache in the data folder fixed to issue, thanks Doomsinger!
    No problem. :-)
