Whoops! Looks like something broke decrypting a file. Give it another shot.
Error Code: BLZBNTAGT0000085C

The Battle.net desktop app cannot decrypt content files. Content files are encrypted when they are for a game or patch that is not released yet. You might see this error when your Battle.net desktop app can't reach our servers to obtain a decryption key.

Note:If you're receiving this error after installing StarCraft II with a physical disc, delete the installation folder and download the game instead.

Windows

  1. Configure your security software's exception list to allow Blizzard applications to run.
  2. Try closing background applications to resolve any software conflicts.
  3. Low disk space may cause decryption errors. Uninstall unused programs or delete files to free hard drive space, and try again.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
  2. Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.
  3. If you're playing on a public or corporate network, the network's policies and security settings may interfere with retrieving a decryption key. Try connecting from a different network.
  4. Delete the Battle.net Tools folder to automatically rebuild outdated or corrupt files.
  5. Temporary installation files can cause errors during decryption. Delete all temporary Blizzard files.
    1. Close the Battle.net desktop app and wait 30 seconds.
    2. Open Explorer.
    3. Type in %temp%\Blizzard in the address bar to open the Blizzard Temp directory.
    4. Delete all files.
    5. Restart the Battle.net desktop app.

Mac

    If the game or patch has been released and the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the game.
