The Exile's Reach is a zone designed to ease the entry barrier for new and returning players. The Exile's Reach introduces you to the major WoW features as you level your character from 1 to 10.
When creating a character, new players automatically start at the Exile's Reach. A new player is one who does not have any character over level 20 on their Battle.net account.
Experienced players can choose to start leveling in the Exile's Reach or in the classic starting zone (based on the character's race). This choice is permanent and if you change your mind you can delete your character and create a new one.
Going to the Exile's Reach
The following characters cannot choose the Exile's Reach player experience: Death Knights, Demon Hunters, and Allied Races characters.
It is not possible to ever go back to the Exile's Reach after leaving it.
Leaving the Exile's Reach
It is not possible to leave the Exile's Reach before completing the whole quest-line ending with the quest An End to the Beginnings.
