In-Game and Forum Policies

Keywords:

At Blizzard, it’s our goal to create fun, fair, and engaging social environments for our players. To that end, we use penalties to discourage behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable, harassed, or unsafe—and to discourage behavior that violates our Terms of Use. If you feel a player has violated our policies, please report them to us for investigation using the in-game reporting feature or the report button on the forums.

Penalties

In-Game

In most cases, a player will receive a warning against negative behavior before we apply a suspension or account closure. Suspensions can range from three hours to two weeks, depending on the account’s history and the severity of the offense.

Forum

Players who violate the forum guidelines below will have their forum posting priveleges temporarily suspended or permanently banned. If a game account is banned or suspended for any reason, the forum priveleges associated with that account will be similarly affected.

Violations

The following guidelines cover behavior that we deem unacceptable. This list is not all-inclusive, and Blizzard reserves the right to take action for offensive behavior not called out on this page.

The bottom line is that we want Battle.net to be a fun and safe environment for all players. While playing on Battle.net and posting on its forums, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While certain language and images may not be offensive to you, consider the fact that that same language and images may have a completely different effect on someone else. We’ve done everything we can to make this a great environment – now it’s up to you!
