Administrator Mode

Keywords: permission, patching, installation, network, elevated permissions, Windows, Mac, settings, account, admin

Our games require that you be logged on to your computer as an administrator since many of the installation, patching, and networking services need elevated permissions in order to run correctly. Being the only user of the computer or using an administrator account will not always run the game with necessary permissions because those permissions must be set separately on different operating systems. Follow the steps below to run the game with the necessary permissions.

Note: We cannot support the game or patch on a non-administrator account.

Windows

Follow these steps to ensure your program permissions are elevated to administrator levels:

  1. Right-click the program icon you use to launch the game and choose the Properties option.
  2. Select the Compatibility tab from the window that appears.
  3. Push the Change settings for all users button at the bottom of the new options.
  4. Under Privilege Level, check the box to run this program as administrator .
  5. Once finished setting your options, click Apply to accept the changes.

Note: If you’d like to elevate your program permissions one time only, right-click the program icon you use to launch the game the select Run as Administrator.
