Diablo 1 Connection Issues

If you are unable to connect to the Battle.net Classic servers or can't stay connected, try the following steps one at a time, then test the connection after each step is complete.

1. Run the game in Administrator Mode to address many installation, patching, networking, and start-up errors.
2. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
3. Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.

The GOG.com version of Diablo 1 contains two modes of play, and to be able to access Battle.net you will have to play in classic mode.

If you are playing in the original, classic mode, and are still unable to connect to Battle.net, you should first check to see if your router has ports 6112-6119 (TCP and UDP) open. If you need assistance, PortForward.com is a useful third-party site that contains port forwarding walkthroughs for most router models.
