Common Problems
- I can't turn in "No Trespass Forgiven." I see the question-mark on my map, but when I'm at that location, the Waterspeaker is missing for the Visions of the Past questline
- I faction changed while I was doing the Visions of the Past in Vashj'ir and now I can't figure out where I was to pick up the quest again
- My phasing is wrong, I can't talk to NPCs for the Visions of Vashj'ir past quests
There are two reasons you may not be able to interact with the Visions of the Past questlines in Vashj'ir. Read the scenarios below and try the associated resolution steps based on your situation.
I changed my character's faction
Because Vashj'ir has faction-specific questlines, if a character is faction changed while having active quests in the zone, the new faction will have all quests available. If your character is on the opposite faction, you will have to restart the questline to get back to the Visions of the Past questline. If you faction changed back to the original faction you were when you started the questline, use the information in the section below to troubleshoot.I left the quest area during the phased portion of the quest
Most of the quests in the Visions of the Past questlines are from a past timeline in Vashj'ir. Leaving the area or abandoning the quest will change your character's phasing back to the present time. To get back to the correct quest timeline, you must use the Blade of the Naz'jar Battlemaiden, which is a quest item provided by your faction's Wavespeaker. (Wavespeaker Valoren for Alliance, Wavespeaker Tulra for Horde.) Using the blade will attune you to the past timeline and allow you to interact with quest givers and quest objectives. If you delete your quest item or lose it because you have abandoned the quest, you can speak to your faction's Wavespeaker to obtain a new one. This NPC will be found in different places depending on which quest you are on. NPC locations can be found in Wowhead by searching for the name of the quest, or clicking on the quest giver on the specific quest page.
As with any quest that may be lower level than your character's target quest range, we recommend enabling Low Level Quests for this content if you are over level 30 in modern World of Warcraft or over level 80 in Classic Progression.
Note: For Visions of the Past: The Slaughter of Biel'aran Ridge the Wavespeaker may be in multiple locations depending on the content you've completed in the area. Be sure to check both locations indicated by the map on the NPC page in Wowhead, the west edge of the Ruins of Vashj'ir and to the south side of the canyon leading into Nespirah in the Shimmering Expanse.
