Common Problems
- Another player took my loot
- The Master Looter gave the loot to someone who didn't need it
- The gold from our GDKP run wasn't distributed properly
A scam is the act of acquiring items, services, or any other possession from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud.
Loot disputes are not supported by Blizzard but if you are the victim of a scam, contact us. Customer support cannot restore any of your losses, but will take action against confirmed scammers whenever possible so they won't scam other players.
Modern WoW
In modern World of Warcraft the only loot methods are Personal Loot for dungeons and Group Loot for raids. Most loot can be traded to an eligible party member within two hours. If the player you want to trade with is not on the same realm, the trade must be completed before leaving the instance and group. For more information on trading loot, visit our Can't Trade Loot article.
Customer Support does not recognize agreements to bypass the Group Loot system and will not redistribute loot due to disputes between players.
WoW Classic (ERA And Progression)
In WoW Classic there are multiple loot methods that allow you to manage loot directly. For this reason, Customer Support will not redistribute loot in the event of a dispute between players. Scamming other players is a violation of our World of Warcraft game policies. We will investigate any reports of scamming that we receive and take the appropriate action, removing gains and penalizing those who violate this policy as needed. Items and gold will not be redistributed in these cases.
If you’re playing with a new group, it’s advised to always be clear on the loot rules before proceeding. Discuss the plans for distributing loot with the raid leader before you become locked into a raid. This will provide you with an opportunity to make an informed decision on whether you want to decline the invitation or leave the group.
We encourage you to group with others you trust, especially when using Master Loot. Ninja looting does have consequences in the community and those who do it will have trouble getting invited to group. Remember to play nice and play fair, especially when using Master Loot.
