  • I play in the EU and want to play a US WoW account.
  • I want to transfer a character from my US account o my EU account
  • Can't create a new starter account for another region.

World of Warcraft accounts cannot be transferred between regions. However, your Battle.net account can have multiple World of Warcraft accounts in multiple regions at the same time. Game progress is not shared across accounts and regions.

Note: It is not possible to transfer characters from one region to another.

You can create a free Starter Edition on any region of your choice:

  1. Visit the Games & Subscriptions page of your account
  2. Under the Starter Editions & Public Test Regions section, click +Create Starter Account
  3. Select a region from the drop-down menu
  4. Click Create Account

Please note that Starter Edition accounts have some limitations.

Creating a Standard account

You can create a standard account by adding game time or a subscription to your free Starter Edition, or by claiming a code you purchased on a third party retailer.

Upgrading through the Battle.net App

You will see the Upgrade Available option when you select your free Starter Edition from the drop-down on top of the Play button. Clicking on Upgrade Available will bring you to the Battle.net Shop to buy the latest expansion. Only the Epic Edition includes game time.

Upgrading in-game

After you launch your free Starter Edition, click Subscribe Now on the character selection screen. This will bring you to the Battle.net Shop to pay for a subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

Upgrading on the Battle.net Shop

Visit our web Shop and find the option you prefer: subscription or game time. Make sure you visit the Shop for the correct region. For example, if you want to upgrade a European Starter Edition you must visit the European Shop at https://eu.battle.net/shop/.

Codes from third party websites and retailers

You will create a standard account if you claim a World of Warcraft code purchased buy from a third party website or a video-games retailer.

World of Warcraft codes are locked to a specific region. The region associated with these codes cannot be changed. If you claim one of these codes, the benefits will apply to the region it is for, or show and error that the code is invalid for your region.

Please consult with your point of sale before buying the code, to ensure it belongs to the region of your choice. Blizzard Customer Support will not swap wrong codes.
