Common Problems

  • I want my World of Warcraft account to be unlinked from the person who recruited me
  • I would like to have my Recruit a Friend link removed

I am the recruiter

If you are the recruiter, you can break any of your recruited account links from the in-game interface in the Friends List (default hotkey O):

  1. Right-click your recruit.
  2. Choose Remove Recruit.
  3. Confirm that you want to break the account link.

After the account link is broken, your friend’s World of Warcraft account cannot be linked with yours again until it has been inactive for 12 months.

If you are the recruit, you can remove your recruiter from your Friends List, but you cannot break the Recruit a Friend link.

If you wish to break the link, you can contact us. However, if the reason is that you wish to be linked to a different friend, beware that you might no longer be eligible to be recruited.

Only accounts created within the last 7 days, or accounts that have been inactive (without paid game time) for 12 months or more, are eligible to be recruited. There is a 7-day grace period for previously inactive accounts to be recruited after game time is added. Accounts that were created more than 7 days ago, but have never had game time, are not eligible to be recruited.
