Battle.net Desktop App Does Not Launch - No Error Message

Common Problems

If you experience a crash with a blue or black screen error message, a crash to your desktop, or if your computer locks up while in the Battle.net desktop app, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Windows®

  1. Update your drivers to resolve any compatibility issues.
  2. Configure your security software's exception list to allow Blizzard applications to run.
  3. Try creating a new administrator account to resolve permissions issues.
  4. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Battle.net App may resolve rare launcher issues.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  2. Run a security scan to remove any viruses or malware infections.
  3. Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
  4. Run ScanDisk and defragment your hard drive to try to repair any bad sectors.
    Note: Do not defragment a Solid State Drive (SSD).

Mac®

  1. Run Software Update to check for pending updates to software, drivers, and firmware.
  2. Configure your security software's exception list to allow Blizzard applications to run.
  3. Try creating a new administrator account to resolve permissions issues.
  4. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Battle.net App may resolve rare launcher issues.
Advanced Troubleshooting
  1. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  2. Run a security scan to remove any viruses or malware infections.
  3. Disable any proxies that may interfere with the login module.
  4. Run the Apple Hardware Test to make sure there are no physical problems with your hard drive.
