Common Problems
- Flagged my Wrath Classic character for Weaponsmithing instead of Armorsmithing.
- Chose Armorsmithing by mistake, and want to change to Weaponsmithing but I am not getting the quest.
Customer Support will not assist with switching professions or specializations.
MODERN WOW
Classic blacksmithing specializations, Armorsmith and Weaponsmith, were removed in patch 4.0.1.
Note: This applies to Classic specializations only. Dragonflight profession specializations available in the game, but cannot be reset.
WOW CLASSIC
You can switch specializations by abandoning Blacksmithing altogether.
- Unlearn Blacksmithing
- Re-learn Blacksmithing
- Level your skill up to at least 225
- Go to Krathok Moltenfist at the Valley of Honor (Horde) or Myolor in Ironforge (Alliance) to choose either Armorsmith or Weaponsmith
WRATH OF THE LICH KING CLASSIC
Blacksmithing specialties can be changed at the trainers for a cost.
- Visit the trainer for the specialization you want to unlearn/already have
- Pay the required amount of gold
- Visit the trainer for the specialization you need
- Note that you do not have to do the quests for the new specialization when you are changing from a previous specialization
This can be done in Shattrath at the Weaponsmith and Armorsmith trainers, or you can return to Azeroth's trainers.
